Anyone else so obsessed with bettering themselves that other people get annoyed?

I need to befriend some fitness like minded people who are willing to share constant fitness memes. Screw those people who say we talk about food and exercising too much. Once you see results, the more you love yourself and the more you become obsessed with it .

Cheers to new waist sizes !!!!!

I try to be mindful about my journey as well. It's often difficult because many of us share a very long & complicated journey to get to where we want to be and it's hard to stifle the excitement as we reach significant milestones. I look to MFP to celebrate !!

You need to know your audience. Talk about anything over and over again with people that have no interest and anyone will get annoyed! I don't talk to friends about this stuff unless they bring it up, some people can feel like you are being superior or putting them down too even if that isn't you goal you don't want to make your friends feel bad.

I love MFP for this, I can talk about health and fitness allll day long and no one will get annoyed. Glad you found the right place for this!

I'm on both sides of this, I guess. I am extremely annoyed by people who constantly talk about their weight and diet, and share "inspirational" fitness memes. It makes me very irritated and I unfollow them on social media even if they are good friends.

While I really don't talk about dieting/weight loss with friends outside of forums like MFP, I still manage to annoy my real-life friends by "being obsessed with bettering myself". Most of them live pretty healthy lives, so it's not like I'm completely different from them. But I am always eager to keep up my routines & habits like getting 9 hours of sleep, trying tons of new skincare/makeup products, preventative dental visits, constantly tweaking my wardrobe, visiting new places, reading a huge range of new books/genres, volunteering, etc. A lot of my friends do not have the time/energy or the desire to pursue any of these things to the extent that I do, whether due to their kids or different lifestyle. They roll their eyes. That's ok.

Yes, but other people seem to be annoyed when I say, “no thank you” to dessert or reduced portions of high fat entree when eating out or at a social function. They say,”you’ve lost so you can ‘afford’ to eat it.” Family & friends are not supportive, esp. if they have been unsuccessful in their weight loss.
