Have any of you tried any of these?

US Postal service sent out a message to all letter carriers to put a sheet of Bounce in their uniform pockets to keep yellow-jackets away.

Use them all the time when playing baseball and soccer. I use it when I am working outside. It really works The yellow jackets just veer around you.

1. All this time you've just been putting Bounce in the dryer! It will chase ants away when you lay a sheet near them. It also repels mice.

2. Put Bounce around foundation areas, or in trailers, or cars that are parked for a time. Will keep mice from getting in.

3. It takes the odor out of books and photo albums that don't get opened too often.

4. It repels mosquitoes! Tie a sheet of Bounce through a belt loop when outdoors during mosquito season.

5. Eliminate static electricity from your television (or computer) screen.

6. Since Bounce is designed to help eliminate static cling, wipe your television screen with a used sheet of Bounce to keep dust from
resettling.

7. Dissolve soap scum from shower doors. Clean with a sheet of Bounce.

8. To freshen the air in your home - Place an individual sheet of Bounce in a drawer or hang in the closet.

9. Put Bounce sheet in vacuum cleaner.

10. Prevent thread from tangling. Run a threaded needle through a sheet of Bounce before beginning to sew .

11. Prevent musty suitcases. Place an individual sheet of bounce inside empty luggage before storing.

12 To freshen the air in your car - Place a sheet of Bounce under the front seat.

13. Clean baked-on foods from a cooking pan. Put a sheet in a pan, fill with water, let sit overnight, and sponge clean. The anti-static agentapparently weakens the bond between the food and the pan.

14. Eliminate odors in wastebaskets. Place a sheet of Bounce at the bottom of the wastebasket.

15. Collect cat hair. Rubbing the area with a sheet of Bounce will magnetically attract all the loose hairs.

16. Eliminate static electricity from Venetian blinds. Wipe the blinds with a sheet of Bounce to prevent dust from resettling.

17. Wipe up sawdust from drilling or sand papering. A used sheet of Bounce will collect sawdust like a tack cloth.

18. Eliminate odors in dirty laundry. Place an individual sheet of Bo u nc e at the bottom of a laundry bag or hamper.

19. Deodorize shoes or sneakers. Place a sheet of Bounce in your shoes or sneakers overnight.

20. Golfers put a Bounce sheet! In their back pocket to keep the bees away.

21. Put a Bounce sheet in your sleeping bag and tent before folding and storing them. It will keep them smelling fresh.

22. Quick, BOUNCE this along within the next 5 minutes! Nothing will happen if you don't, but your friends will be glad to hear these hints!

Why is it that people typically ignore the fact that a lot of this commercial crap is actually bad for us and the environment? https://www.scientificamerican.com/article/greener-laundry/

I personally switched to wool "dryer balls" for my laundry. In the case of pests, if you don't bother them. they won't bother you. Another neat little trick you can do when you're using wool dryer balls is to splash a few drops of essential oil onto them similar to what you would do if you where making, and just set the dryer on tumble with no heat. Typically I dry my laundry first then infuse the balls for about 10 minutes to let the oil soak in. adding them while on a hot dry cycle can cause a fire so the tumbl only setting is used at the end for about 10 minutes. The oil can be lavender, pine, tea tree, lemon, etc. and the clothes smell wonderful.

The more we use toxic products the more we desecrate the planet.

I hate the smell of dryer sheets, they even feel gross to touch so I’d never use them. To me, adding fragrances to a home doesn’t “freshen the air” it just adds a cloying smell. I’m allergic to a lot of fragrances so that might be why I don’t like fabric softener smells like Bounce... it would definitely repel me! I guess that’s just an added benefit :D

Well if something else will keep mice out my boat let me know. It get old every spring haveing to replace all the wires in boat, trailer , ATV because winter nesting, eating wiring. Leave the rodents alone and they will make a lot of work for you. When you live in a rural area, near fields, rodents will overrun you. Adding that peppermint oil has not worked.

    Wont your clothes smell sour?

I’ve tried it a few times and they come out smelling really neutral. To me there’s no discernible smell at all.

eta: those wool balls work too though

    as does line hanging

Ill stick to dryer sheets its convenient
They sure are. I use them sometimes.

But if anyone ever gifts you those balls, you should give them a try. Easy to use, no waste, etc. and you don’t actually have to put essential oil on them unless you want to.

Yeah, I don’t understand the leave them alone theory. I’ve had to evict squirrels, mice, and even rats from my rural home. They are not harmless. They carry diseases both in themselves and in the parasites they carry, can be hostile, are always destructive.

That said, if there’s a more environmentally friendly way to do things, I usually try to find it - like a good steward. I use old fashioned snap traps placed carefully so they don’t hurt something I didn’t intend.

I’ll ask around and see if any of my friends know of a boat friendly rodent repellent

I can’t stand the smell of liquid fabric softener either or how it makes my clothes feel, like there’s a film all over them. I don’t use any softener at all. Just wash and dry in the dryer, my clothes don’t get staticky 🤷‍♀️

I switched years ago to wooden combs and I don’t get static in my hair anymore. You can find wooden combs and hairbrushes online, they are very popular in Asia. Wooden combs are also gentler on the hair and scalp, I’ll never go back to plastic!
