Hello, well I am a nurse that recently obtained my Certified Nutrition Specialist training! I work with a lot of DM patients and WW really didn’t fit with the education I was giving patients. That & I recently had my own labs done & I am sick with myself! So I said good bye to WW, uploaded MFP & have found that it works well with my new education. I’ve also started back to walking. I enjoyed doing the Local 5k’s last summer. So I’m going to practice what I preach.

Try Keto. You will be surprised what happens to your triglycerides when your body can turn fat in your blood stream into energy. You'll be surprised how less hungry you'll be after you satiate yourself with plenty of fat, and enough protein to keep from losing muscle, don't worry about your cholesterol, you'll find out soon enough that the fear about cholesterol is wrong, and the real problem is inflammation oxidizing the cholesterol that then gets stuck in the arteries. Don't reduce your inflammation too much though, it's part of the healing process. You'll want a better Omega 3-6 ratio to reverse heart disease symptoms like vein calcification.
Though I'm not an expert. I did not go to college for nutrition, not everything I said might be 100% accurate, but I think I've been listening to the right doctors, scientists, and health professionals to have a better idea of how our bodies SHOULD work, compared to people learning outdated malarkey from Ancel Keys who I pretty much dub the worst American ever. He was a bully who had a hypothesis, only used a handful of countries to plot out, because he knew that if he plotted out all the 20+ countries he had data for, there was no line you could draw on the scatter plots, and he forced the idea of reducing fat consumption down people's throats.
Now more than 50% of Americans are at least pre-diabetic or worse.
Maybe I'm a bit harsh. Maybe it's more complicated. Maybe I'm just wrong. If I'm right though, I just helped expand your mind enough that maybe, just maybe you can save lives.
That's what this post is about. Sorry if I upset you in anyway but my life has been destroyed by the idea that calorie restriction as weight loss is a good idea. No the good idea is insulin control, strategic weight loss fasting, and eating foods that satiate you, not foods that just fill a gap in your body that we call a stomach. I used to think that hunger was about filling a stomach. Now I understand it's about giving our bodies what it wants and Keto works because that's what made humans human over the 100s of thousands of years.
