Good day overall, work was good, prepped a few things for the cat's arrival on Thu, went for a run and feel much better than the last few weeks.

So my motivation from yesterday went out of the window this eve. I worked much longer than planned as I was at home and then felt annoyed and sorry for myself and snacked... Didn't make my steps as I felt very tired and then it started raining in the eve, so there was the excuse I needed 🤔

Stressful day at work with loads of meetings and little time to eat. I didn't go for a run because I was expecting the cats earlier. Instead, I started building one of the Ikea cupboards while waiting, they were about 2 hours late. Food was ok, but late dinner and a couple of snacks afterwards while watching the cats explore.

Food was a mixed bag, within cals including wine, but also spent too much on snacks.

This week went better than expected, average weight is lower than last week's. Gain today is probably from my take away last night, which I finished tonight, so expect more gain tomorrow. Very active day, built a bed, tidied up, cleaned, went for a run, did some yoga and a little bit of work. The run was unplanned, I suddenly had a surge of energy in the eve and thought I better go. TOM arrived, so hopefully that will also lead to a drop before the end of the round.
Overall really successful weekend, so I had to revamp the Ikea instructions 😋

04/23- I pushed myself way to hard. Lots of water. Eating healthy.
04/24- Not my regular routine this week my grandson is not feeling well, but tried my best to get exercise in.
04/25-today it was a 20,041 step day, once a week I can do it averaging 15,000 -16,000 which is really good for me. Drinking lots of water and eating healthy!
04/26-15,000 steps, working on strength training exercises/kettle bell
04/27-Worked on strength and yoga today feel a bad cough coming on.
04/28- Walked every day (3 miles) six weeks so far rain or sun.
04/29- Went walking, eating healthy very cold outside.
04/30- completed yoga walking, strength exercises.
05/01-went for a long walk, continued on strength exercises and stretching.
05/02- did lots of cardio worked on half of stretching exercise, used kettlebell. I feel sore today.

04/23 – 202.8 – Gorgeous day! 60 minute walk on a moderately challenging trail, but gardening was limited to 10 minutes of deadheading daffodils before relaxing in the sun. Squeezed in some grocery shopping after the walk and got the dishes done. Not enough sleep last night, so my energy is flagging. Got my water in though. 😊
04/24 – 201.6 – Another beautiful day – blue skies, sunshine, and the lilacs are blooming! Too pretty to stay indoors, so I took the dog for a long walk in the park (75 min, paved trail). Enjoying the last of the daffodils while I deadhead like crazy. Perennials are coming in, but so are the weeds! Rain moves in Thursday evening, so I’ll double down on chores then. Extra water! Good day 😊
04/25 – 201.2 – Walking this morning (45 min before work). Trash goes down tonight, so I’d better get that fridge cleaned! (Got part of this done – threw out the stinky stuff. Then did recycling, composting, and some general straightening for another half hour.) Super salty dinner, so lots of extra water!
04/26 – 201.2 – A break in the rain this morning, so I managed to squeeze in a 65-minute walk and then lunch out with my daughter. The sky opened up 5 minutes after I walked back in the door! Squeezing in an hour of power-cleaning so I can concentrate on the neglected garden this weekend.
04/27 – 201.2 – No walk, but worked in the garden all afternoon pulling weeds, planting summer bulbs, and filling a few hanging baskets to attract the hummingbirds. Feels like I bruised my instep trying to dig out a new bed – should have worn sturdier shoes. Despite 10+ cups of water, I was thirsty all day. Way too much salt this weekend ☹
04/28 – 203 – And there’s that salt ☹ Half hour walk before heading out to a family event. Stayed away from the salty snacks, kept within my calorie allowance, and stuck with sparkling water and green tea. Four more days to go in this challenge – still time to turn this around.
04/29 – 201.6 – And there it goes – well, some of it, at least. Back to my weekday routines, cooking (and seasoning) my own meals. 8+ waters. Chilly 40-min walk in the park before dinner, enjoying the scent of lilacs and freshly mown grass. Busy week ahead and lots of rain in the forecast, so I’ll try to squeeze in the walks when I can. The garden looks pretty good, but my indoor chore list is growing!!!
04/30 – 200.4 – 30 min walk, 8 waters, laundry and recycling. Lots of papers to grade, so I’m keeping comments brief tonight.
05/01 – 199.8 – Woo hoo! Didn’t expect to be here at this point, but I’ll take it. Late breakfast out with my grandson who had the morning off from school. Put off the walk until after class but got rained out and decided to take today as a rest day and get to bed at a decent hour. I’m thinking I might add sleep as a goal in the next round.
05/02 – 198.8 – The sun came out in time for a 45 min walk with my grandson this morning. What a delight! Took a nap after class and then went out for ices with the kids. Suddenly summer doesn’t seem so far off.

THERE ARE NO QUICK FIXES OR SHORTCUTS to achieving permanent change.
REMINDERS One or two thoughts which might give heart to some of you.- Daily weight fluctuations are normal, and can be as much as 2 lbs a day for no apparent reason.
- A general downward trend is what we are looking for.
- Eating out can cause apparent weight gain because of high sodium levels, but usually goes quickly. Drinking extra water helps with this.
- The human body does not react instantly to what we do to it. Sometimes it can take several days to see results.
- Plateaus are a normal part of the process. The body is consolidating and adapting to your new way of eating/exercising.
- The closer you get to your goal weight, the more difficult it becomes to lose weight, as your body becomes more efficient at using what you feed it.
- When you exercise you build muscle, which takes up less space than fat, so use measurements as well as weight to assess your progress.
- Getting/Staying fit and healthy requires a lifestyle change for most people.

4/25- 164-I’m starting a bit late. I fell off the wagon at Easter then left town and ate bad. I cam back to take a quilting class the rest of the week and walked yesterday morning before I left, but sat all day and didn’t want to stop for lunch, so I ate chips when I got home and made dinner. Last night I made a salad to take today. I will walk 7 miles this morning before I leave and will hopefully be back on track!
4/26-163-I’ve been getting my walks in before my class. I’ve also been taking my lunch. It sure takes a while to get back to the lower number after eating bad for a couple of days. Not worth it. It’s Friday!!!!!!!!!
4/27-162-I’ve been walking and making wise food choices. Long car ride today and eating out....we’ll see.
4/28-164-I’ll take that after the long day of driving and heavy food. Yesterday was DH birthday and we didn’t even cut into the cake...it is just sitting there waiting for us. Hopefully we’ll eat it early and I can drink lots of water and walk or ride the bike. Have a wonderful Sunday.🌸

04/23 got back into routine but decided on no weigh ins for a couple of days..Easter made me feel discouraged so not concentrating on the gain and being unaware of my weight I feel like will keep me on track.
04/24 still no weigh in but I am working hard to take off the holiday gain
04/25 138.6 dissapoined this weight isn't coming off more easily and struggling to retake off the holiday weight and get to holiday pre-weight....the struggle is real

04/30 I haven't been posting like I used too but I am planning for May to be a good month. April has been a wash but I am looking forward not backward....it's time to kick the final pounds....I am ready to re set my mind. So starting tomorrow I will be re weighing every day, no excuses!!
