Starting Strength Training (Inspire Me!)

In terms of workouts I've always done a lot of walking or yoga, but I'm really interested in strength training to get the shape I want. I've lost a LOT of weight before (about 4 years ago) just from walking all the time, but I wound up still having a bit of a tummy and some chub on my legs while you could see my hips and ribs clearly. It wasn't a good look. My darling husband and I started lifting last night and I'm excited to really get into it. I was never one to enjoy exercise when I was a kid... Which is why I've always been chubby. But I've found now that I'm older I really love it and want to get into the best shape I've ever been.

I'd love to see your progress photos or success photos and any tips you might have! Long posts of specific routines are totally welcome, too.
