iHeart is playing the AT40 countdown for 12/5/81. That must be a sweet spot for me because I like almost every song in the list. Like this one.

Ok, clue time. Here’s a clue for #3:
3. What one might say once the rain stops (after having rained for many consecutive days)...0 -
3. Here comes the sun

With some extra research.
1. Dead Or Alive - You Spin Me Round
2. Counting Crows - Round Here
3. The Beatles - Here comes the sun
4. John Denver - Sunshine on my shoulder
I vote for @corinasue1143 if that is correct. I started from the bottom up and tried to make Country Roads work.0 -

In 1971, the writer of this song and his mother became the first mother and son to each have written a number one pop single in the rock era. Song was #1 in 1971. The writer was NOT the singer.0
-
And I still hear it often in aerobics classes.0
-
I had to look it up, but know the song well.
My first thought for the writer, for whatever reason, was Paul Williams. That was incorrect, but oddly his mother's name is Bertha Mae Williams and the correct mother for this question also has a name Mae.0 -
I went straight to Mae Axton and Heartbreak Hotel when I saw mother-son, but Hoyt had so many songs about that time, I had to look it up. I never even thought of Joy to the World. I always think of him in relation to drinking, drug, and typical western songs.1

You are up.@corinasue11430
