Like many of you here, I’m restarting. Signed up for MFP again and am focused. I’m 45 and not getting any younger. I’m aiming for a mostly low-carb diet, and will be adding in strength training and flexibility exercises. I’m 5’3”, and I have about 30 pounds to lose.

I would love ladies in my height range with a similar amount of weight to lose. Bonus points for moms in their 40s or moms of toddlers. But I’m not too picky. Any supportive friend is great. :)

Hi! I'm 41 and have 3 kids but they are grown now. I need to lose about 60 pounds. I'm tired of being uncomfortable in my own body. The hard part for me is the fact that I'm disabled physically so exercise is hard to do.

I am 45 years old, mother of 3 (all grown, one still in college and at home), 5' 4" and need to get rid of 45 pounds. I am vegan, but I don't berate anyone for their food choices. I'm on here daily and enjoy giving and receiving encouragement. You are welcome to send me a friend request

    Hi there. :)

Focus on what you can do. Diet is going to be the biggest contributor to weight loss. I don’t know what your particular restrictions are, but maybe pool exercise would be an option. Takes the weight off of your joints, etc.

I'm 53 years old and my kids are 21 and 14. I've been trying to lose the same 10 pounds for probably 10 years now, lol. I have just started following a plan called Target 100, which in a nutshell is to not eat more than 100g of carbs a day, drink 100 ounces of water a day, exercise 100 minutes a week and get in 100 minutes of movement (other than exercise) a week. I find that it's very doable. It's lower carb, but not super-low carb. My cardio is mostly running, but I'm trying to get more strength training going.

    Sounds doable. :)

I’m also not doing anything super low carb. Some meals are keto friendly, some are low carb, and some are a low-carb/slow-carb mix (add in some legumes). Just trying to stay under 100g most days, under 50g some days.

    Hi there :)
I’ll add you. I’m not doing keto (a lot of keto friendly meals though), but I have been working up to 16:8 IF. Just did my first 16 hours today. Yay me! B)

    Thank you :)

I’ll add you. I’m no stranger to plant-based eating. Just haven’t had much luck with it. Legumes kill me. No amount of soaking and rinsing helps. Even oatmeal is hard on my guy. And I find it nearly impossible to lose weight if my carbs go over a certain amount. I’m still trying to find a balance and hoping to eat mostly plants with some poultry and fish. I’ve also started intermittent fasting (basically skipping breakfast), so that’s one less meal where I’m tempted to eat animal products, and it helps me with calorie control.
