… and it was AWESOME!
I just spent the week in Fiji for a wedding (not mine) and a holiday. Buffet breakfasts every morning, sumptuous restaurant meals each night and days filled with calorie bomb cocktails by the pool, local delicacies and ice creams with the kids. All resulting in a totally worth it 4.5kg (10lb) scale jump in just 1 week. Best trade-off ever!

Brilliant, and you’ll probably pee half of that out over the next few days.
I love post vacation weigh ins.
Cheers, h.6 -
Fabulous ! Turtles are may favourite when diving - sounds like the whole thing was marvelous !0

Awesome picture! It sounds like you had a great time. I second that I'm sure your weight will go back down in a few days, even with eating lots of treats that would be a lot of surplus calories, especially since you were active!0

Some things are just worth the consequences. Mostly water weight and you will get back on track in no time but you will have all those amazing memories to carry with you for the rest of your life.
That picture is fabulous. Who doesn't love a good pic of a turtle. I would love to swim with them. Happy days.2 -

Thanks everyone.
I often make posts along the lines of 'holidays don't count, enjoy your leisure time' and similar so wanted to make this post to show that it's philosophy that I live not just something I post on this forum that I think sounds good.
And yes I had an amazing time. Particularly since this is the first trip I've taken since beginning to manage my weight. I can say that having 100lb less of me made the trip SO much more enjoyable. The plane seat was more comfortable, getting around was less of a burden, the heat was far far easier to handle and I could fully enjoy many of the activities that in the past I either avoided or participated in under duress.
But most importantly I was able to play with the kids. One of the hardest things about being my starting weight was that I spent so much time 'on the sidelines' watching the kids run around and have fun. Now I was able to join in, swim, run and play with them. This was without a doubt one of the most significant benefits I've reaped from the weight loss.
This was also my first time strapping on the scuba gear since losing weight and it greatly rekindled my love of diving. I always enjoyed it but being severely overweight made diving a bit of an ordeal. Being so big meant I had to use massive amounts of lead weights in order to submerge which made diving extremely difficult particularly for shore diving where you need to walk all that weight into the water. Then even in the water it would be a constant struggle to maintain neutral buoyancy while diving and my lack of fitness made swimming against any sort of current would really diminish the experience.
Further being so unfit meant that I used my air supply VERY inefficiently. I'd blast through my entire air supply in 20-25 mins and have to signal to my dive buddy for us to surface even though they usually still had a half a tank of air left and could have kept diving for an additional 15-20 minutes. They'd always say it was fine and not a problem but It was a real source of embarrassment for me that my weight/fitness was negatively impacting their dive experience.
Being 100lb lighter and infinitely fitter meant that I was able to dive comfortably, be efficient with my air consumption and dive for longer, relax and enjoy the experience rather than stress about buoyancy and difficulties moving through the water and just made for an all round more enjoyable and awe inspiring underwater adventure.8
