Has anyone else noticed that the calorie counts on many products from Lidl are less (sometimes significantly) than similar products recorded in MFP from other stores?

Any reasonable explanation? Or are they just messing with our minds?

Are the calorie amounts per gram different or per serving? Offhand, I'd suspect a smaller serving size. Lidl is a discount store, right? Reducing serving size is a pretty common way to reduce product cost as well.

Sorry to be so slow following up! We were in an isolated area for a month, and the internet was so awful, I was just doing the necessary stuff and didn’t have the luxury of checking the boards. I think it might be what @yirara postulates. I’ll have to start tracking to see which foods, and I’ll try to remember to post here when I run acrost one that’s lower. It’s usually about a 10-20 calorie difference per serving on some foods. Nothing mind boggling, but enough to be the pleasant occasional surprise.

And btw, same serving sizes, and I check per gram.

Do they list their nutrition as net carbs (carbs - fiber), whereas the others show gross and include the carbs and cals of the fiber. Typically UK does net carbs, whereas North Americal uses Gross.
