Hi all! Last year, with the help of a trainer and this app, I lost a lot of weight and got in the best shape I’d ever been in. Fast forward to now and I’ve gained it all back and then some, and been inactive for the last six months. My diet has also been all over the place. So, here I am, back to try this again. Definitely looking for motivation and recipes (mostly vegetarian)!

    Welcome back!

I am a plant-based eater. You might find this plant-based group in the MFP Groups section (I'm a member) of interest, as we do swap recipes regularly:

    Motivation is an interesting question.

If you'd like a group of friends and some structure for accountability, I'm a member of an MFP group that is wonderfully supportive. It's a monthly team weight loss challenge (the goal being for all of us to win!). If you join, you get assigned to one of several teams, and your weigh-ins would start counting for the team in June. There are optional daily check-ins -- very helpful when you use them, as you check in on how you are doing on your plan for yourself as regards food, water, exercise, plus any other health goals you had for the day. Weigh-in is weekly on whatever day you choose. People on the teams share challenges, victories, ideas and generally cheer each other on. Join the group, if this sounds appealing!

James Clear has written a really (to me) useful article on motivation:

I am back again also! I started with a dietician last month. I had been trying every diet I saw in a magazine and the dietician put it in perspective--bottom line it is calories in minus activity to lose. She recommended MyFitness and since it was something I was familiar with--I knew I just had to take one day at a time and make the best choices and just not give up.

Welcome back and best of luck! It's always so easy to lose motivation and gain the weight, too bad it isn't as easy to maintain and lose.
