So my goal is to lose weight. I’ve been eating in a defecit for 4 weeks. I haven’t seen major results yet. Last week I started carb cycling. So far it’s all good. Today I messed up though. I ate like 4000+ cals. I feel so stupid and regret it. But I’m not too bothered about it. I just wish I didn’t do it. The food I had wasn’t that bad. I had oats, eggs, bananas, kit kats, rice, chicken, chocolate biscuits, Crisps packets, bread, 400grams of Greek yogurt, slice of pepperoni pizza. I just lost control. It wasn’t like a binge or anything. Ugh I regret it!!!!!!! Right now I feel so uncomfortable . Bloated and stuff...

You lost me. This makes no sense.

Sorry, I meant I do regret it but not to the point that I want to give up and stuff. I lost control cause I didn’t care when I was doing it.3 -
Tomorrow's a new day. How high is your deficit? You say you are carb cycling, are you unknowingly eating even less calories when doing low carb to the point it leaves you ravenous after a few days of doing it?7

This is part of the journey we all are on, the good thing is that you have not allowed it to make you want to give up. I think it’s important to recognize that not everyday will be perfect, but we are playing the long game here, if overall you continue to eat at a deficit you will reach your goals. Assuming your TDEE is around 2000 which most people are close to that you were over maintenance by about 2000. Over the course of month you can still easily be at a deficit and see the scale move in the direction you want.5

Spend no more than about 5-10 minutes thinking about the circumstances that may have contributed to it happening, and planning how to avoid a similar situation in similar circumstances in the future. Rehearse your new plan a few times vividly in your head to cement it in place.
Then let the whole thing go, and get on with life.
You can't unhappen it, you can only learn something from it. It's no big deal - really.4
