Discouraged

I've been working my butt off for almost 3 months and have only lost 7-8lbs. I eat under my calorie limit, I workout for an hr (weightlifting and walking), and drink a lot of water. Why can't that been good enough to drop the weight faster. 😔

    when I work out real hard and diet.. I lose slower.. it think my body is doing two things at the same time and it takes longer for me to lose weight. I was shocked when I just dieted one time and I lost weight faster than ever before..as I always exercised and dieted prior to that.

    I would start taking measurements this really helped me. I was getting frustrated because I didn't see the scale move as fast as I would like. So frustrated that I didn't notice that my clothes were fitting better and my body composition is changing. Progress photos have also been an eye opener for me as well.

    That's pretty close to my weight loss. I started mid-march at 192 and am down to 181 right now. I guess for me, I'm trying to change my mind-set to be okay with this rate of loss instead of losing faster. I've lost weight faster before and gained it all back since I got tired of being on a diet and feeling hungry often. I also couldn't sustain the physical activity I started in the spring/summer into the fall/winter (a much busier work time for me with work and family). This time, I'm trying to not be in such a hurry and not feel as deprived, with the hopes that I'll stick to it. Trying to focus less on the slow scale progress and more about how I'm feeling better and lighter. At some point, I'm going to have to figure out how to maintain this so I don't regain it again...so I might as well start figuring things out now.

    do you use a food scale? all foods?

    how much do you have to lose? are you already within a healthy weight range?

    I have about 30 lbs to lose (this happened in the last 4.5 years between 2 pregnancies and a lack of food discipline between the pregnancies). I'm a tall person to begin with, I'm 5'9. And when I gain weight it's not in any one area, its all over so my friends and family don't realize I have 30lbs to lose, they would tell you I don't look all that different from prior to these last few years.
    I haven't used a food scale, to answer your question. However I've taken today to look back on my food logs to see where I've been going wrong and I see where I can definitely improve. Maybe after a few more days of research and looking further into my foods I can make the appropriate changes to start losing weight.

    I see what you are saying. And it's true. If I can slowly and in a healthy way lose about 3lbs a month I can lose 36lbs in a year which is a good way to lose weight. Even if it feels discouraging, Slow and steady wins the race. Am I right😉

    Lady!! 8 pounds off is better than 8 pounds on! I started getting down on myself and you know what happened? I went off my diet and started eating and drinking everything I wanted and BAM 15 pounds in 15 days- of NOT water weight. Stay the course my dear! Champions are made because they keep getting up and grinding! You got this!!!

    Wow, you sound like my twin! I'm 5'9 as well...prior to first pregnancy in 2011, I was at about 150ish. Definitely ate for two during the first one and stopped working out. I was about 165-170 at the start of my second pregnancy in 2014 (and topped my highest weight of 210 right before the baby popped). Since then, I've bounced around between the 170's and 190's and I'm honestly getting so tired of that.

    I told my husband that this attempt is it or I'm finally getting my wedding ring resized (haven't worn it since my last pregnancy). My youngest is starting kindergarten in the fall, and it's about time I lost that post-baby weight. o:)
