Hello and a little assistance...

I started working out about a month and a half ago. Since then I lost 16 lbs. in a flash. I started by intermittent fasting and now I'm just tracking food. Things were going really well and then the scale stopped at 16--won't budge! It doesn't seem to matter what I do. I stepped up resistance and now do cardio after resistance (I really don't like it.)

On the positive side, my clothes are more loose, I chased away a bunch weird medical issues and my digestive system feels amazing (seriously!).

Any quick tips on how to get that scale moving again? I've read so much about plateaus but wouldn't mind additional advice.

Thanks.

I was told change things up. If you're focussing on cardio switch to weights and vice versa. Sometimes it helps to even eat more calories. All of these have worked for me

Also check your sodium intake and your sugars intake. I find if I switch my diet to a very clean one, lots of lean meats and veggies, I can jumpstart things

If you lost 16 lbs "in a flash" much of it was probably water weight. Regardless you can't keep up that kind of pace safely, it's just not realistic. Not knowing your stats, it's impossible to give more specific guidelines, but unless you are very obese, you should be expecting to lose @ 1 lb per week.

It's perfectly normal to not lose weight for a week or two. If it's been more than 3 weeks since you've lost weight, focusing on your logging is the best place to start.

And definitely check out the sexypants thread linked above. :drinker:

I agree that my quick weight loss was water weight and I actually expected it. But I didn't expect it to stop there! I expected to lose a quick 10 lb and then steadily lose a least 1.5 a week after. Trouble is that it just stopped at the flash loss.
