Desperate sugar addict

I’m 63 and have been struggling with my weight since my teens. I lost 98 pounds about 5 years ago, but have gained back 50 pounds because I can’t get my sugar addiction under control. My new clothes that I bought don’t fit anymore, and my closet is full of clothes I can’t wear. I have arthritis in my knees and the more I gain the more they hurt. I’m so disgusted with myself, but that still doesn’t stop me. Anyone else struggle this much with sweets?

I used to eat gumdrops all the time. When I realized that I wanted to be healthier, I just stopped buying them. Now, I pass the candy aisle in the grocery store and don't even consider walking down it.

Yeah same boat so switching to 100calories under ice creams to zero calories barbque sauces. Always going to fight sugar cravings so getting healthier alternatives to brands.

I do! Friend me if you'd like. I had a nearly 3000 calorie day last week at the end of my vacation. When I tallied my food diary for the day, I realized I'd eaten 1000 calories of real food and 1900 calories of junk. It was a tough reality check after losing nearly 30 pounds since Oct. (though I've plateaued for the last 2 months). I'm finding that adding foods before I eat them helps me not to go haywire.
