Hey I’m wondering if any girls started at over 300 lbs?i went from 270 down to 138 back in 2014 and then got pregnant and since regained all the weight I loss back plus more. I hate I allowed myself to do this but I do know when I lost weight previously I still had a tummy and was unsure if it was fat or lose skin. Anyone over 300 lose over 150 lbs have loose skin and if so did it look similar to fat? I’d rather have lose lose skin then fat any day though. I have been on track better then ever and down 17 lbs and won’t give up

I started close to 300, but I've just started losing. Sending positive thoughts for you and your journey2

I started at 311 at the end of March of this year. I’m now between 293-291.1

Started at 380 in December now down to 335. Ultimste goal 200. Its hard but stay focused. #positive vibes4

Started at 385, reached goal almost a year ago, currently weigh around 150. So IT CAN BE DONE.
As for loose skin - yeah, I've got some, and it's all still a mixture of loose skin and a little fat. The loose skin on my thighs and upper arms mostly just looks wrinkly, and is largely hidden under clothes anyway. What's on my belly and butt is droopy rather than wrinkly due to a higher fat content. Again, not something that most people see, although I'm never going to look good in tight trousers or leggings.
All of the wrinkly bits - including the lines on my face - have smoothed out some over the past year. They will never be remotely 'normal', but as you say; I'd rather have some weird loose skin than fat I mostly think of my loose skin as a battle scar; it shows quite how far I have come.12 -
I was 995 lbs. No loose skin issues. I did take a break from religiously tracking my food and attempted to be a normal person eating at maintenance to give my body a rest too. Loose skin is primarily genetic.3

I went from 279 to 174 in 2012/2013 and I had some loose skin on my stomach and arms but it wasn’t that terrible.
This time I started in March 2019 at 294 and I’m at 253 right now.
I’m sure I’ll have loose skin on my arms, inner thighs and stomach but I’m weight lifting, drinking plenty of water so what will be will be.5 -
I started at 301 and went to 155-160. Maintaining now for 2.5 yrs. I feel I have some loose skin but people who see my pics don’t notice it and even comment that I don’t. I started strength training day 1 and have continued to this day. It makes a big difference in how look and feel.

I started at 363, currently I'm 294, still aways to go, but so far so good. I do expect loose skin as I had 4 kids, so I think in my tummy area and my upper arms its inevitable.3

I started at 351. Currently at 324, so I've got a long way to go, but I went from 400 down to 300 a few years ago, and didn't have loose skin with that weight loss. It might be different when I get to goal.1

My highest weight was 307 (but possibly more at some point) in 2007 at 30 years old.
I lost very very slowly for years after that but finally started using MFP at 272 lb in March 2013.
I hit my goal range in February 2014 and have maintained there since then, bouncing around 160s-170s. Right now I'm on the higher side around 174 but when I get into low 160s my libido usually takes a dive, so I am cool with this.
Loose skin issues in some spots (flabby upper arms, midriff) and surprisingly no issues in others (lower belly, butt, thighs). I'm 5'8" hourglass body type with wide hips (though not a true pear, def more hourglass) and I am now 42 years old.6 -
I did. Lost 170. Maintenance for several months now. You can take steps to minimize loose skin: hydration every day, lift heavy from the start, and nourish in a balanced way. Overall, I would rather have good health right now than plump, rounded appearing skin1

- Started on MFP weighing 387 lbs
- No loose skin issues from November 2013 at the age of 38 when I'd exceeded my goals (ie healthy weight range), presently maintaining my aesthetics around fitness/athletic.
All you can do now is to commit any spare time to drop the excess weight continuing with your programme - mindful of the following:- Genetics (+/-)
- Hydration (Water mostly)
- Nutrition (Fats/Proteins)
- Regeneration (Restful sleep)
- Lifestyle (Medication? Alcohol? Tobacco? Caffeine or other stimulants?)
- Skin exfoliation
- Skin hydration
- Skin protection
- Skin moisturisers/oils/creams/lotions
- Lymphatic drainage massage
Congratulations @ 17 lbs loss.3 -
I am 56 years old, 5'5", and have been morbidly obese at 350 pounds for several years. In April of 2018 circumstances in my life made me want change more than food! This year I have lost 100+ pounds! Using my fitnesspal, the pool, the gym, and a healthy dose of will power I never knew I had has equaled success I never dreamed possible. My goal at first was weight loss, but gradually I realised that was not enough to sustain my motivation. Health became my goal. The weight loss steadily continued, but oddly enough, when it became secondary, the progress increased. At 250 pounds, yes, still considered obese by most, my life has changed. Literally, my world is bigger. I am capable of so much more than I ever dreamed. When I wear a size 18, or an xl, others might see me as a "fat" girl(old woman:), but I feel in the best shape of my life. It's all in your perspective.11
