I ate a pint of ice cream and feel fine

How is that possible?!
I don’t take in a bunch of sugar, even through fruit. While my dairy is limited, I do sometimes cook with butter and add real, freshly grated Parmesan to meals. Normally I crave random vegetables like boiled artichoke or beets and didn’t have a craving for ice cream but wanted it, if that makes sense. It’s summer in Texas and I was feeling tired and like i just wanted to chill-out yesterday. So I grabbed two pints of ice cream and ended up eating a half pint of each. I felt fine. I didn’t feel sick, nauseas, or gross. The ice creams were incredibly sweet! How did my body allow this? It usually screams at me if I’ve had too many refined carbohydrates and grains.
That being said, I’ve felt tired all day today. Perhaps the effect of eating a pint of sugar is delivered on day two?
I love you, ice cream. Thanks for being kind.

Or maybe sugar isn't evil and your body is letting you know you can have the occasional treat without major consequences.42

Unless you have a dairy allergy, why would you think ice cream would make you feel sick?26

I always marvel at people who don't feel fine after eating food they enjoy. About the only times I don't is when I've over eaten so much I have trouble moving around...
So yeah for ice cream... which has fat and protein and carbs.... a bit low on fiber unless you use some of the diet varieties....16 -

Stop with that reasonableness nonsense!
OP - it's fine that you feel fine. As long as you don't develop a pint-a-day habit, seems like a good thing to me that you aren't sick!15 -
If you ate a lot more carbs/sugar yesterday than you’re used to, it’s not surprising that you feel a bit tired/sluggish today. It’s a thing.1

Ice cream is actually reasonably balanced with fat and protein. Therefore the amount of sugar you ate was absorbed slowly and you did not have a sugar crash. To avoid the sluggish next day feel maybe eating a more moderate portion would be better for you.
I am somone who has trouble with sugar and sugar binges and am actively trying to include treats in moderation to avoid the binge deprivation cycles. Maybe you should consider a similar approach.8 -
I guess I’ve over eaten ice cream (when I was younger) and felt very ill. I also think that might be because I didn’t have a balanced diet to begin with. Today I had an entire flank steak and more ice cream (veggies lead my B,L,D). I think my body is saying “we want fat”, because I’ve been cutting back on everything I eat in general to cut my own body fat, and it’s worked. Maybe keeping fat and protein primary and filling in the void with veg is the way to go! I’ve never felt so nourished by chowing down on red meat, at least not in a while! I think the ice cream was just the first indication. Listening to our hunger is interesting!10

You were feeling tired yesterday and blamed it on the heat. Has the temperature dropped 20 degrees since yesterday that you think you need to blame ice cream for feeling tired today?14 -

I feel fine when I eat iced cream, too. Or broccoli. Pretty much any kind of food do except jalapenos which give me heart burn.
You know what would make me feel sick, nauseas, and gross to eat? Toxins. I don't mean carbs, I mean actual toxins like a box full of asbestos. That would be bad. Iced cream isn't bad.
Hope is it a surprise that you could eat iced cream without throwing up? You don't think everyone who goes to Baskin Robbins pukes on the way home do you?16 -
That much ice cream would definitely make me feel ill, but I'm also mildly lactose intolerant. Make it frozen yogurt, however, and I'm in.2

You don’t lose body fat by not eating fat. Fat does not work that way, and your body requires a minimum fat intake for proper nutrition. You lose fat by being in a calorie deficit.9 -

I don't think you should wait to listen to your hunger. Just eat sensibly not radically.
If your profile is correct you only have 17 pounds to lose so you should not be dramatically cutting your calories either.10
