How is MFP recognising exercise?

For example, right now for today it's showing as 2 cals burned (I'd seriously hope it's a lot more, lol) but where is it getting that number from?

Thanks in advance guys from a complete newbie!

Do you have an activity tracker linked to MFP?

Yes, if you go into the "Apps" tab you can find out if your tracker is compatible and how to do that.

Having said that, if you don't have any trackers synced with MFP, I have no idea where the exercise calories came from. Is it possible you were fiddling around with your settings and accidentally logged 1 minute of some type of exercise?

    That's great, thank you.

Think I've managed to link it. It's still saying 2 cals burned though?
