So today I stepped on the scale to find out I lost my first three pounds. I am on this journey to honor God, be healthy for my family, look attractive for my wife, have more energy, and I may join the army. What is your reason for losing weight or staying fit?

I like being slim, I like looking in the mirror and seeing a slim person.6

I've worked in elder care. I've seen what difference a healthy lifestyle can make. We all kick the bucket eventually, but I've seen a whole lot of drawn out ways I don't want to go, and most of the suffering was preventable.
Besides which, being healthy looks good and feels good.7 -
I exercise a lot, but have gained 20lbs over the past 3 years thanks to poor diet choices. I’m embarrassed at the gym in my gym clothes, and it’s hard to find clothing I feel good in when I get dressed in the morning. I’m tired of it and want my confidence back. Plus I work too hard to look so out of shape.2

I'm tired of being tired all of the time.
And honestly I am tired of being single and the only guys I seem to attract online are the "chubby chasers". Just want someone to see my personality before judging.6 -
I’m on my weight loss journey because I want to feel better and look better.3

My son needs me. 'Nuff said.7

I was caregiver to my husband for 5 years while he suffered from ALS. I lost him a year ago and have experienced high anxiety and gut wrenching depression since.
Now it's time to focus on my health and wellbeing. I've been here a month and am happy with my progress so far. My anxiety and depression have lessened and I'm looking forward to a healthier and happier life. ❤21 -
Definition and to cycle up hills much faster, period (as our transatlantic colonials say)0

I'm on a journey of self improvement, the goal of which is finding a romantic partner. I'm going through therapy to work on my mental issues, I'm losing weight to look more attractive, I'm going out to be more sociable (and learn some social skills I'm lacking atm). This is a part of that overall journey of self improvement.9

Being fit and a healthy weight is more fun than being fat and unfit. 5 years ago I couldn’t walk more than 1/4 mi without pain and rest. This morning I swam 1 mi across the lake then biked a somewhat hilly 8 miles. At age 64.4

@lorrpb that is so inspirational
@turnpike1920 you can do it!
@mattig89ch Sounds like a healthy way forward!
@resale3108 Biking sounds like fun, but it messes up my back
@LyndaBSS I’m so sorry for your loss. It is inspiring to see you handling that kind of pain and still staying fit. It leaves me with no excuse.
@awdouth Well said.
@stefgreen72 I think we can all relate to that
@Liesje986 I can relate. My weight gain caused me to have sleep apnea. Staying awake is so hard for me. I want to be able to have energy all day without caffeine.
@fitpal4242 This is so true for me too. I used to be 260 and fit. Now I’m 337, and I’m disgusted when I look in the mirror. I’m ready to break free from the prison in my own body that I created.
@glovepuppet This is a great reason for all of us. Thanks.
@hixa30 I really want to know what that feels like6 -
Looking and feeling healthier. I was diagnosed with diabetes two years ago and am hoping to get off medication. I find out next month if weight loss, daily exercise, and diet has helped make a difference. The majority of my older relatives have diabetes. I have a disability and have found I'm moving a lot better from working out so that's inspired me a lot.3

@Katmary71 I was able to get off insulin. I wish the best for you.5

I spent 3 months earlier this year losing weight and achieved my initial goal of reaching a healthy BMI. My weight's stayed roughly the same but I feel I want to lose another stone (14lbs) minimum just to feel better, move more easily and look better in clothes. I'm also looking to get back into dating. I don't require washboard abs but I don't find too much 'squidge' attractive. So I don't expect any potential partner to find it attractive in me either.2

I would like to live a bit longer than I otherwise might if I keep gaining weight.2

For the first time I saw myself on security camera and thought "I don't like how I look". Also I don't like having to pay more for plus sized clothes.1

@Pickle107 Moving more easily sounds amazing
@Polariceflow That is a solid reason that I can relate to
@rednote49 I have a closet full of clothes that will fit me when I lose 30 pounds. It is annoying but also motivational.0
