Clothes, makeup, etc. Are you doing things differently? What are you loving? Any unexpected challenges?

I'm wearing shorts with confidence for the first time in my life!9

That's the thing.. you have to change your style after losing weight..and it was hard for me. I was so used to buying loose fitting shirts that didn't tuck in and dark colors.
But wearing belts and shirts tucked in has to be the biggest thrill of all.8 -
I went from dressing like an unmade bed to the best dressed guy in the office. Rewarding myself with my first new suit in years for losing the first 25lbs turned out to be one of the best weight loss decisions I ever made. When I lost the next 25 lbs I sought out Harry the tailor, he taught me how do dress. It was great fun. Changed everything. No one was more surprised than I was.20

I'm actually buying white pants and shorts for the first time in my life and not all black clothes! I'm wearing shorts instead of capris, tank tops instead of long tee shirts, and actually wore a bathing suit without a cover up in front of a bunch of strangers recently. I never would've even gone to the gym in leggings without a butt-covering tee shirt, now I run around in leggings all the time. I've been wearing less makeup, I need to hit Sephora or Ulta and try out some new stuff.
My biggest challenge is my feet shrunk so now I need new shoes too, I always thought shoes were a safe thing to buy! I'm getting new workout shoes this week, can't wait!9 -
Not really, because my style is whatever is comfortable and I don't like makeup. I do, however, find myself able to buy more graphic T-shirts that I choose myself, not whatever is available in my size. Couldn't always buy what I wanted when I was heavier because most of them don't go larger than an XL.
What I don't like now is that many tees I like are a bit too short on me now because many of them are in junior sizes, and the sleeves are a bit too short to be comfortable (I have some loose skin on my upper arms), but that beats feeling like I have no choice in what I wear.3 -
I have always been a not-caring-very-much-about-appearance person, as in, I don't wear make-up and as long as my clothes are clean and don't have holes, I don't really care about being in fashion.
However, when I was fat (note - I was average, then got fat, now am average again) I cared even less and wouldn't even look in the mirror.
Now, I am starting to rock some more belly peek tops and even - gasp - a midriff top the other night at a concert!
Oh - and I now look in the mirror a lot more and I take photos of myself. A lot more.8 -
I now exclusively wear tear-away pants.

The only difference in clothes I find is that I try to wear things that I used to fit into. However I do tend to groom a little better when I am losing weight.1

Thanks for all the comments so far! I'm hoping we can keep this thread going. I need ideas.
I finally got myself to donate all my REALLY large clothes. For some reason, it was surprisingly hard (a lot of nostalgia, and I really liked some of the clothes); but I realized I don't ever intend to be that weight again. I finally see that wearing clothes MANY sizes too big is not flattering; I was definitely hiding myself.

When I was 200-230 lbs, I would go out of my way to look more feminine (makeup, hair style, nails, etc) because deep down I felt that my fat made me look unwomanly. I felt that I couldn’t wear the simple no frills clothing I wanted to wear, because they would make me ugly/unfeminine/looking like I didn’t take care of myself.
Now that I’m at a healthy weight, I’m picking out the simple stuff that makes me feel comfortable and look great, and I’m also not wasting time on makeup/nails/shaving legs/armpits as a way to make up for being fat. It’s sad that I had to be skinny in order to feel allowed to dress the way I wanted to.9 -
I have not changed my style, even with a 100 lb loss. I have always been classic with a touch of boho which means I have never been very stylish, but I have never been out of style either. Dresses are princess seam shifts or an embroidered boho style. Blouses have always been the same: button down tunics or boho style. Pants are classic trousers. Casual is jeans or shorts with t shirts or sweaters. I wear a lot of sleeveless shells with either a flannel shirt or a Hawaiian shirt, depending on the weather.
All of these styles were available in a size 30/4xl just as they are available in a size 16.
I have never been one for much make-up so I only wear it for special occasions. I used to wear mascara and blush daily but don't any more. It is more because I am retired than any looks issue. My hair has always been important to me and I still take my time to care for it, but I have not changed my essential style (long and either pinned back or worn in an updo)2 -
I feel less pressure to "fit in" after the weight loss, so my dress has changed to better fit that. For me, it actually means more sleeves, more dresses, more heels. I'mma dress up to go the the grocery store because it makes me feel good and I don't feel as pressured to wear jeans just because everyone else is.7

I'm at one of my heaviest weights right now, but when I was smaller I would wear more tank tops or dresses with thin straps and it was easier to find cute tops that didn't have my boobs hanging out. At this higher weight I feel very restricted by my cleavage because even tops that look like they will be fine while on the rack or online pictures are way outside my comfort zone for cleavage bearing when I put them on. I also feel more comfortable in shorts and skirts/dresses above the knee when I'm smaller.3

I am putting a little more effort into my wardrobe. Getting rid of bigger clothes, weeding through older clothes that now fit again, and very selectively adding new, quality pieces. I am bolder in my choices, not hiding behind baggy or dark clothes. It’s actually quite fun!3

I didn't change my style at all, now that I'm lighter. I had to buy smaller clothes, but that's it. I still wear what I like, the difference is that it fits better now.2
