Any recommendations on a reliable scale?

I apologize if this topic is a repeat. I have used a number of digital bathroom scales to track weight loss/gain, and have found them to be frustratingly unreliable (sliding along a range of 3-5 lbs when used multiple times in a 90 second period). If anyone has a recommendation, I would really appreciate.
Thanks!
Thanks!

I like my WW digital scale from Walmart. It seems to be accurate, and I check it with a dumbbell occasionally.1

Most scales are pretty reliable, if you're having the same issues with a number of them, could it be that you're not using them in the same spot? If the floor is uneven that might affect it.1

Stay away from the ones that supposedly show body fat, bone mass, etc. They are never accurate and sometimes I think the more things a scale supposedly does, the more glitches it can have. You can get a good scale for less than $30. I have had good results from the brand Etekcity for both bathroom and kitchen scales.
Whatever you decide, put it someplace on a hard, even surface and don't move it. They need to recalibrate every time it moves which can throw it off.2 -
I have the original Fitbit Aria (I moved on to Apple Watch ages ago but it still work nicely with the app) and also got a "Weight Gurus" bluetooth scale from Bed, Bath and Beyond that, fwiw, reads about the same as the Aria on any given day. It does show all those water/bone/muscle etc numbers and I know they aren't accurate, but as a sliding scale I thought they might be interesting. As it turns out they don't vary enough to be at all interesting1

Yes, I have a recommendation for you, the Tanita HD351. Here is what it does not do:
- Give you body mass, bone mass, water mass, etc.
- Measure your heart beat, blood pressure, or other bioindicator
- Upload to an Amazon cloud server, integrate with Fitbit or Apple Watch, download recipes from the web, or stream Netflix
Here is what it does do:- Gives you a dead-on accurate weight with a 0.2 pound resolution every single time, without fail
This scale is so accurate that if I fill a glass with exactly 0.2 pounds of water and get on the Tanita right after taking my weight, it will show 0.2 pounds higher. If I then pick up my 10.4 pound cat, it will be 10.4 pounds higher. If I stack exactly 18 pounds of dumbbells on it, it will say 18.0 pounds. If I do any mix of these things 100 times in a row, I will get the exact right weight reading 100 times. It never misses. Not by any amount. There is no "play" in the readings. What it says you weigh, is what you weigh, and is what you will weigh in the doctor's office. My socks weigh 0.2 of a pound, and if I take them off, I get 0.2 pound lower reading. Every. Single. Time.
I got so sick and tired of "scales" that fail at the one function they are supposed to do well: weigh things. All these digital fitbit scales are ridiculous, bouncing around in a 3-5 pound range as if that's good enough. What good is a scale that reports data to the cloud if that data is wrong? I spent days searching and researching for a tool that would do what I needed: tell me how much I weigh, period.
The digital connected scales are, I think, putting all their R&D into digital / connected / cloud features. The Tanita investment went into the springs and other quality components for measuring weight. The Tanita HD351 is a whole different level of accuracy compared to what you've been used to. It has to be seen to be believed. The only downside is that when it tells you you're up a pound after what you thought was a solid diet and exercise day, you will no longer be able to tell yourself it's a scale anomaly, because those will be a thing of the past.6 -
Thanks everyone! I really appreciate the recommendations. This has been very helpful.0

I have been using a clear glass digital scale (branded by Weight Watchers that I bought at Costco) for years. In fact, I have 3 of the.
Cheap, accurate and reliable enough for my needs0
