(sorry guys for the first part) during T.O.M. I lose all energy, I'm completely exhausted, get light headed a lot and just generally feel like ****. Are there any vitamins I can take to help?

Secondly, what vitamins do you take and what do they help with? Are there any vitamins inparticular that most people dont get enough of and should? Are multivitamins really good enough?

Thanks ahead!

Well, the vitamins I take are under doctors orders. With that in mind... I take a multi-vitamin (the adult gummy kind  ) and vitamin D. The vitamin D made a huge difference for me in terms of energy, but I was severely low when they did my blood work. I eat plenty of vitamin D rich foods, so I must not be absorbing it properly.

I take an herbal supplement Maca Harmony that helps with my moods during that time.

I just take the One-A-Day woman's multivitamin. I asked my doctor for his input and based on what I eat, my energy levels, etc. he said to go ahead and take that. So, I am. :-)

Prenatals are good for women even if you're not pregnant and not trying to. Also vitamin D :)

You mentioned exhaustion during TOM - could it be an iron issue for you? Take a multi for iron or just the iron.
  • i take Vitamin D that my GP asked to take. I also take vitamin B12 which is supposed to help me burn fat around my belly. I have not taken it long enough to know if it works but my doctor said to take it so why not.

I take a one-a-day multivitamin and Vitamins B 12 and D since I was low in those. Definitely try the B 12 one and see if you notice any difference. It can't hurt!

I take centrum performance. It is a multi vitamin with extra B vitamins for energy. I notice a huge difference in energy levels when I take it.
  • I take vitamin B complex I got it at a local grocery store for like 3bucks and it makes a huge difference energy wise and I could tell it with in days of taking it!

The iron is a probably. I get light-headed during the first few days. I did used to take an iron supplement before I got pregnant. I should probably start that back up again...

Thanks, everyone for all of your suggestions!!

    I take
    -womans one a day
-fishoil- for cholesterol and it's great for skin, hair, and nails
-vitamin e- for skin.. Michigan winters are not awesome for the skin
    -d3- immune system
    -b12- energy and metabolism

I know.. it sounds like alot but I can't live without them now lol. I would definitely try the b12 and see if there's a difference.

Also - I would try maybe cooking with an iron skillet or eating iron rich foods, and getting some vitamin c in as it helps your body absorb the iron better.

I took iron supplements after giving birth and they always made me sick to my stomache, maybe it was the brand I tried?

I have been taking an iron supplement and noticed an increase in energy. This one is easy on my stomach (it says on the label!) Some of them make me nauseous. I also take vitamin B complex, 1 fish oil, and some flaxseed oil in my morning smoothie. They have been great for my energy and my skin.

I take a multi, flaxseed oil, calcium + D, and B12. This combo seems to work well for me.
