I’m embarrassed to share this but I want to be accountable, I’ve been yo yo ing my whole life but I’m ready to make a change and commit. I saw images taken by a professional photographer at an event which really made me reevaluate myself. This on top of the fact that I feel so out of touch of who I am has made me want to join this community and others on their journey.

Hi there!! I'm starting out again after several attempts and would love to be your accountabilibuddy if you need one! Getting started is hard but you've taken your first step! Taking everything 1 step at a time really makes things fall in to place a lot better. Remember not to think too far ahead or else it can seem overwhelming.

You can do this and I'm here for you if you ever need a friend!

Hi I'm Jenn. I started in January! I never took a photo, wouldn't look in the mirror, and puked at gym when my heart rate increased (only stopped in the past 1-2 months). But I was tired of feeling tired. like seriously.stairs? no. I clocked in at 199 lbs... I don't actually know what I am now, last time we checked I was 190 but had added 15 lbs in muscle and considerably increased my water ratio. My weakness is food, sugary and fatty food...Add me and we can poke eachother and share recipes. Congratulations on getting started.

Don't be ashamed. Everybody here is here to improve themselves. Whether it's to lose weight, body fat or to build muscle, everyone is or should be supportive of you and your goals.
This site can really be a good tool for you if you are truthful in your reporting. One of the easiest and best things I ever did was to get a proper digital food scale. Weigh everything that goes in your mouth and record it in your diary. I went from the 230's to the 180's in about a year and had a decent amount of muscle growth. A lot of my results were due to my recording everything I consumed, even condiments.
Prior to this site and recording my intake I had gone over a year with only modest results.
I also had success and sustained it an my motivation due to measuring myself. There were weeks where the scale barely moved or it went back and forth. However, I would measure myself once a week and there I would see results. I measured my waistline, biceps, forearm, neck, chest, thighs and calves. You can ask a trainer at the gym, if you go to one that is to take the measurements for you.
You got this, just be patient.

Hi and welcome. I'm Jennie and been there as well. I have 1 saved before photo which is at my heaviest 237 and now at 174. I did drop to 164 but gained some back so focusing again. I found running last year and absolutely love it. Wont win any races but it has helped me so much with my fitness and stress, depression. Take it day by day and feel free to add me if you want another accountability buddy.

    Good luck on your journey.

You have arrived at the right place: let MFP do all the calculations, you chose the macros you are comfortable with long term. Prepare a simple meal plan for the next day, take it meal by meal, day by day. Record on MFP everything you eat and drink and if possible start with a little exercise. Go for a walk, go for a swim, relax. Trust MFP and there are lots of members out there for great advise and support. Enjoy the journey!
