Hi
I have a toned body as a dancer but do indulge in bad junky foods at times so am around 20% bf.
I'm going on holiday in 11 days and I want to lose around 4lbs to have that edge on the beach. Please bear in mind I'm already in good shape as have been training sports most of my life I just want to look a bit harder and more cut for a holiday.
Any recommendations for those last minute cuts? I think in bodybuilding they call it micro cutting or mini cutting or something.
I'm currently 78kg, 177cm (strong upper body from breakdancing). I consume around 2600 calories per day at the moment.

The bodyfat percentage thing is a total guess bdw.0

You could lose 4lbs in 11 days by being extremely hungry. The first meal at the airport/on the plane/at the resort and it'll come straight back because it wont be actual weight loss.11
-
You could go low carb to lose some water weight.7

You could lose a bit of water weight and maybe some fat but it will likely come back with the plane ride and as soon as you eat your first meal. It is really not enough time to make any stable changes. I cut down a little harder before a vacation but I started with a month to go and to be honest it didn't last long as soon as the eating and drinking began.
Get your hair, nails done, take care of your skin, put on some fake tanner or bronzer, buy a new swimsuit and enjoy your vacation!17 -

Hi,
Instead of having a goal of losing 4 lbs, I think it's better to focus on what you can do (being reasonable and sustainable) and see where you get.
If you are consuming 2600 calories (I understand maintaining your current weight), you could cut down to around 1600 calories without being too hungry. Just focus to eat enough protein, big salads and I would not avoid carbs. Then if you feel too hungry try with 1700 cal. I think that's sustainable and you won't be hungry just for 11 days like that. Actually, I weight around 92 kg and I've been eating around 1650-1750 cal per day for 2 weeks and I'm not feeling hungry. I'm losing around 2 lbs per week and I'll probably go on like this for a couple of weeks more and then I will raise my calorie intake to 1850-2000 to continue losing weight more slowly.
In 11 days you could lose around 3 lbs with no problem and no extreme hungry.

Don’t stress about it. Keep doing what you are doing until you leave. I realize we are our own worst critics, but, I’ll bet you will be the envy of a lot of people at the beach. Have a wonderful time.4

Just wear a bright sunny hat.
It will draw attention away from those pesky 4 pounds.8 -

The absolute shortest mini-cut prescribed by Renaissance Periodization is 2 weeks (upper limit being 6 weeks in length). Please note that "potentiating weight gain" is actually a primary reason to run a mini-cut, meaning even if you did a mini-cut, if you do it the "right" way, you're literally setting yourself up for a net weight gain after its completion.
Go to the beach, have fun, don't worry about 4 lbs that honestly nobody but you will even notice!4 -
Are you going to a strange beach where your weight is printed on your forehead?
It’s 4 pounds. It’s not going to make any difference in how you look. Anything you could do to get 4 pounds off in 11 days is going to be reversed the same day you eat “normally” on vacation. Or go to the bathroom.7 -
I was just using 4lbs as an example of what I want to achieve. Just a clean up. Like bodybuilders do. I don't actually care exactly how much I lose. It seems people are taking this a lot more seriously than I am. I just wanted to know if mini cuts even work having seen them done on youtube. It's all good I don't care about the 4lbs that much, callllm.14

I think people were actually just taking you your word. You said, among other things:I'm going on holiday in 11 days and I want to lose around 4lbs to have that edge on the beach.
Given that and the rest of your post, it seems reasonable to assume that you wanted to lose 4 pounds in 11 days.15 -

We can only go by the information you post. That, plus the fact that you posted the same thread in 3 different forums... well, I'm sure you can see how we'd take it seriously.11 -
I'd suggest a high-end spray tan and some nicely tailored clothing. It will may far more difference in your appearance than 4lbs and starving for 11 days.
It will also continue to make you look good, even when you eat on vacation and you'd bloat up if you just went low carb to look good.4 -
Can you start two months ago?10

4 lbs in 11 day = 14000kcal less in total = 1272kcal less per day.
2600-1272 = 1323 kcal per day.
Nope.
You'd lose a bit of fat, bit of lovely muscle, feel miserable, sunken in eyes, straw-y looking hair, pale.
Do you think people will notice those 4lbs too much or how miserable and sick you look?4 -
is everyone else on the beach going to be perfect bodies to within the last 4 lb???
Highly unlikely.
I think the better option would be to just go as you are and enjoy the holiday.6 -
If the edge you want is for attraction you don't need to lose weight. In the next 11 days begin training yourself to treat anyone that is talking to you as highly important. Be attentive to what is being said. Maintain good eye contact. Ignore distractions like phones. Anyone speaking to you should feel that in that moment you have nothing better to do than hear what they have to say. It is a skill that will serve you well in life... trust me.

So, you posted a topic with a question and people tried to answer it. Then you post that you didn't really mean what you wrote and everyone needs to relax? Does that about sum it up?6

I eat 1300 calories a day regularly and don’t feel miserable or look sick with “sunken-in eyes.” My hair is healthy and shiny, and I have some nice color from all the hiking I do. I think your response is overdramatic. 1300 is a perfectly healthy calorie range for some people (including me).
That said, I do agree with the other posters that losing 4 pounds in 11 days is impossible to do in a healthy way and without feeling pretty miserable.

I think the OP is male though. As a guy, I'd be totally miserable and hangry at 1300!1 -

OP posts in moment of wishful thinking, realises mistake, tries to backtrack and blame everyone else.2
