Do you cut the tags out of your athletic clothes?

I've bought a few new pieces of Arc'teryx gear lately, it's been on sale and still is at Backcountry. The new stuff is obviously made with the intention of having the tags cut out. What I mean by that is that the tags aren't sewn into the garmet itself, there's a flap of soft fabric they're attached to. After you cut them out, there's nothing to chafe.
Now I'm wondering how common this practice is. I haven't seen other clothes made this way.

I’ve not seen this feature but it sounds great! Especially now that they print a book on the tags 🤣3

I like this concept. I haven't seen any like that before myself. I do really like the ones where stuff is printed on the fabric itself. No itchy tags to mess with!2 -

I agree with all of this. There are few things I have cut the tags off of because they annoyed me too much, but if I'm not careful the cut tag will be as annoying or worse than leaving it intact.2 -
I cut the most bothersome tags out of all of my athletic clothing. Most of the time it's a chafing or otherwise physically uncomfortable issue. However, I just got a new rowing unisuit and the tag squeaks when I move with it on! First thought it was some new (and worry some) trick my joints were doing, but no - it's the material of the tags.4

Most of my workout clothes are already made tagless from the manufacturer or have the tag attached down the side seam nearer to the bottom of the garment where they tend to not be so bothersome. I can’t stand being distracted by an itchy tag! For the stuff that doesn’t, I will definitely cut out the tags if they irritate me though, even the side seam ones sometimes. This is not limited to workout clothes either, if the tags are scratchy on any of my wardrobe, they are gonna get cut out sooner rather than later. I’ve not seen the exact tags you are describing, but I have seen tags attached to garments by a thin thread loosely hanging on to the item and those are obviously meant to be detached for wear.2

I'll have to get a pic before I cut the rest of these.I cut the most bothersome tags out of all of my athletic clothing. Most of the time it's a chafing or otherwise physically uncomfortable issue. Wow, that sounds annoying.
I do it for chafing/comfort reasons too, also with one exception: One goodie is a thin headband, my ears are the first thing to get cold. It disappears in my pack, comes out on windy summits. 4g of headband, 1g of tag booklet. That's 25 % and I'm allowed to be a weight weenie sometimes.1 -
I like Target’s Champion brand. Comparatively inexpensive, wears and washes well, and if the label isn’t printed, they’ve started making them perforated so you simply give them a gentle pull to remove. Wish everyone did that.
👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻6 -
Only the ridiculously long lululemon tags.2

I cut the tags out of all my clothes.
I'm sensitive, yo.1 -
None of mine came with tags. Well my cheap tanks from Amazon did, but they are not bothersome.
That is why the pants do not have any identifying information on them anymore, it's all peeled off. Those tagless tags come off after so many washes. I just have to hold them up to be able to tell the pants from the tights.1 -
Everything I’ve been buying this season has no tags but has the item mfr stamped into the fabric (arcteryx, icebreaker, north face, Patagonia, prana). If it did come with tags I would rip it out anyway.1

Me, too. It’s a PITA now that I’ve lost weight and have to tey on all my jeans to see what fits rather than looking at the size on the tags.

Washable markers. I write the number on the inside of the pants on the pocket.2 -
Not usually... tags rarely bother me.2

I'm autistic, I cut the tags out of all my clothes. So yes I cut them out of my workout gear too. I have noticed that the tags seem to be designed to easily remove from my newest running shorts.2 -
I cut the tags out of everything immediately, they really annoy me.1

My strong preference is no tags, just printed info. I did buy a couple shirts for working out that had a label in them along the side. To my amusement, the label had a little scissor and dotted line indicating where to cut.1

More amusing is when one label has a scissor line to cut and one doesn'tNeedless to say, I cut both labels on the unisuit I wore for the first time this morning.

yeah, Gym shark has the kind of tags you are describing...tags made of thin, rubbery plastic which can easily be ripped off (not sewn in). Generally just rip tags out...not that I'm vain in not wanting people to know what size I wear but because of the chafing...1

Anyone else hoping underarmor starts reading this and stops with the crazy tags you gotta cut out?!?1

Yeah I guess I am somewhat hesitant to cut the size tag on my other uni, which is custom (it's a team uni), because I can see there being a time when I would want to know what size that one is so I can gauge whether or not I should get the same size. While I will probably only be with my current rowing club for another year (due to potential grad school plans), the potential for me needing to go down a size on the bottom half by the time I reach my goal weight is pretty high if I ever end up with a custom unisuite from the same manufacturer.1 -

Could you take a photo and file or email it to yourself so you have it?1 -

I cut them out of everything. The size really only comes in handy when I buy the same brand again. I've had medium shirts hang off me loosely and large fit too snugly. It would be so nice if different manufacturers had to adhere to a single standard for sizes lol.1

Both Lululemon and Under Armour have tear off tags, no cutting necessary.1

The crazy part is all of the clothes I've bought for many years have the size printed directly into the fabric, shirts on the back of the neck. But for some reason it's necessary to include a microfiche copy of Milton's Paradise Lost inside the lower left of the shirt. Regardless of who made it.0 -
