    If you haven't already, read the stickies at the top of the getting started forum. Very informative and helpful.

    Start small. Fill out the food diary and stay at a calorie deficit.

    Eat the foods you love so you don't feel deprived.

    I like to make spreadsheets to see my progress I have a spreadsheet for weight, for calories in/out, and for fitness (run times, weights lifted etc). I also use the blog function here to keep me in check - I try to write once a week, and that makes me reflect on how I've been doing lately and usually motivates me to keep going. I also made a list of goal for weight loss and for fitness that I try to look at every so often.
