Just curious how often do you step on the scale? Every day? Once a week? Once a month? Never?

    I usually step on the scale at least once a day but I only log it into myfitnesspal once a week (give or take). It helps me to see the fluctuations from day to day and understand that it is normal and ok as long as I'm still seeing the overall weight loss trend long term (week to week)

    I typically weigh in once a week at the same time as to keep a very consistent basis.

    I was initially logging my weight once a week but after a good 3 months of that affecting me mentally (lol) I'm switching to logging every 2 weeks. I still weigh myself out of curiosity here and there but am not obsessive with it.

    Interesting. I weigh myself probably every other day since the scale is in our hallway, but I never obssess over the numbers. I do the same as @o0kody0o ,it helps me keep on track to make healthier eating choices when I see where it's at and how much closer I am to my goal. If I see the scale says I gained weight, I try not to get too upset because it could just as well be water weight or bloating & then will go back down in a couple days.

    Once a day when I wake in the morning after bathroom visit, before breakfast. I use Trendweight to keep an eye on the long term trend, and update MFP of any new weight changes once a month.

    Every morning, after bathroom and before cardio. Thinking of going to more of a log it in MFP once a week approach, rather than logging every day. But for sure, getting on the scale every morning keeps me "honest" as far as snacking the previous night. I always want the best morning readout I can get.

    I weigh every day and log it in Libra, which produces a weight loss trend that helps me understand fluctuations better. I only log it into MFP when I make new weight loss progress though. I don't want to be showing my friends that I'm "losing" the same couple of pounds over and over again, so I wait until I have positive movement, even if it takes a few weeks.

    I weigh once a month, about (actually once a period cycle, so more like the lunar month). Keeps the water weight fluctuations to a minimum, and I like seeing consistent losses.

    Once or twice a week. I found weighing everyday was causing me to obsess about it, so I stopped doing that.

    I weigh daily. It keeps me engaged in the process. My scale syncs with the Health Mate app, which then syncs to mfp.

    If you weigh daily, you have to accept that fluctuations and plateaus are a normal part of the process.

    I weigh daily and log that into the Happy Scale app daily.

    I log my weight into MFP once per month, at the lowest part of the month - about a week after my period starts.

    I experimented with weighing less often and it didn't go well :(

    When forced at a doctor's office, lol.

    I become too obsessed and discouraged by fluctuations and that number on a scale.

    I keep tabs on my pants size, measurements, pictures, and how I feel. Recently cut down taking measurements and pictures to once a month.

    I weigh myself daily on a scale that syncs with various things (MFP, TrainingPeaks, etc). I can easily get caught up in the numbers (in a bad way) but also like data so not having to actually spend much if any time looking at the number on the scale is a good thing. It allows me to look back at numbers (raw numbers or a trend line) when I have enough mental bandwidth to not put too much weight into what I'm seeing.
  • I only allow myself to weigh once a week or things go south fast. I start stressing about why the scale didn't move fast enough and I end up self-soothing with Blue Bell 😒

    I used to weigh in every day, but it started to become unhealthy for me mentally because I was obsessed with that one pound that would be lost or gained just because I ate that day or didnt eat that day. So now I weigh in once a week and my mindset has changed quite a bit and my eating habits as well.

    I weighed myself for the first time in two weeks today. I’m up three kg. I’m just done. I can’t win. Deleting mfp after posting this. Best of luck all x

    I'm sorry the app wasn't of much use. Dm me if you want to talk about it. Remember that weight fluctuates all the time throughout the day, but don't give up! Exercising is only half the battle.

    Me too.$30 wifi scale automagically syncs. I stumble out of bed each morning, step on it, and that is it. Sometimes I don't pay too much attention. But it is great having a pretty accurate 4 year trend chart.

    I slowed it down, because the weight-loss has slowed. I need to take pictures... It's been a while.

    I've thought about buying a scale. Just seeing everyone's success, makes me want to weigh. ;)

    I rarely step on the scale. I don't stress about the scale I just think its irrelevant for my goals. Weight Gain is not Fat Gain.

    Your weight will naturally fluctuate depending on: salt intake, water intake, stress, poop, menstrual cycle.

    I think most folk (perhaps just me?) are more concerned about how much fat they see when they look in the mirror or how their clothes feel etc. So for me the scale is not the right tool to measure this. Instead I take monthly progress pics.

    If your really are determined to use the scale then think of it as simply collecting data. Dont get strung up on your number on any given day - its data. Measure the 1st of month vs 1st of last month, 2nd vs 2nd etc. This will more accurately identify your trend rather than weighing once every month. Big gaps between weighing could discourage you if you see that you have gained 4 lbs...BUT... in reality you just had bacon washed down with a gallon of water and still need to go to the bathroom whilst your stressing about what the scale says...not to mention you are due your period :) Just relax.
