Getting the Carbs right

Hi all

Has anyone any advice on what foods I should get my carbs from? Today I've had fruit, wholemeal bread and an egg for breakfast, a homemade bean and vegetable stew plus banana for lunch, and am planning on having some lamb, mashed turnip and steamed brocolli for dinner. I have a carbohydrate deficiency for the daily target with this - also a calorie deficiency. I don't want to include potatoes in my dinner as they make me feel very stuffed and lethargic in the evening. I also don't want to eat some junk just to meet my calorie target.

Any tips on how to meet my target but not overdo it? Should I be having more snacks, and if so, what are good snacks?

I try to do more whole grains early in the day to keep you fuller for longer. Then your body has the whole active day to process them, rather than eating them later when your metabolism begins to slow down.
