Please be very cautious if you are planning on meeting anyone from this app in person or even pursuing an online relationship. We've seen our share of scammers.9

i've known 3 people on here that got ghosted. one of them was married and he ghosted her as soon as she left her husband for him. tread carefully, please.7
-
Everyone here is married, but they'll probably slide into your DM's anyway.6

Some may act single but they aren’t. Beware.3

Unless you get lucky like that couple who just got married after meeting 6 yrs ago here💕🤷......but like anything be aware things mostly happen the other way🙄🤗2

object: matrimony 😂
Personal ads crack me up. I love them. Too bad they’re mostly banned now. Thanks a lot Village Voice.

This reminds me - crank Yankers is coming back to Comedy Central - such a funny show - spoonie love once placed and add with the village voice on that show1 -

My advice is stay relatively local in your search, and be HIGHLY specific about what you're all about & exactly what you're looking for. Don't chat forever. Get a sense for the person and if you see any red flags, block & delete. Anyone who seems cool, meet them SOON and in a low pressure public situation like coffee. Trust your intuition.
I've had great luck with online dating but you have to be savvy about it.4 -

people in prison can also access mfp and dating apps, they're potentially dangerous if you think about it.
To meet people, why not be creative - go to seaside towns, sit beside someone and chat, relax inside the library, who knows who you might bump into
This can work but strangers rarely approach people in my experience. It is like taboo now or something. I’m always out and about in public and men rarely talk to me.

I agree. Since my separation and divorce from 2007.... then on and off.... I’ve been on several dating apps and let me tell I can pick up cues for possible scammers and cyber persons who are not going to meet me in person after the first initiative. I don’t have time for those jerks (male or female)!! I will cut them off!2 -

And if you're walking in the opposite direction to someone, literally turn back around and make yourself available to them.
You're right that people rarely approach, one has to get lucky... but still.
This is so rare, that men actually acknowledge complete strangers who get a smile & nod in public. There was an imgur gif a while back, that showed this happening. Can't seem to find it though.
I think the rarity is why men don't approach much in public. A lot of mental and emotional effort, for very little payback.0 -

many publications have eliminated them so
they can’t be held accountable for illegal activities conducted therein.
