Depends how you look at it, if you started with Premium there would be a bunch of stuff disabled if you go back to Basic. That said for most people Basic is more than useful enough for weight management. Premium is only helpful in my opinion if you need super-detailed reporting for nutrition that you want to be able to extract.

Maybe it's my age, but I am not a fan of the subscription model. I'm a buyer, not a renter. Too bad they don't just offer a forever price option.
