Sadly my back locked up for a while haven't been able to do this challenge. But it's better now and back on it although having to start again a bit gingerly....

Just had the most dreadful 10 days of my life – my son has been diagnosed with a brain tumour. He had been struggling for some months with a range of problems put down to depression, anxiety etc but finally convinced someone to do more investigations and on Tuesday evening (Oct 9th) he called to tell me about the brain tumour. He lives about 100 miles from me with his wife and two small children, and the hospital which will be treating him is half-way between my home and theirs. He has been in hospital, having MRI and a biopsy, he's home just now. So I have been up and down the motorway, staying over with them or hospital visiting.
Needless to say, my life has been turned upside down, but I need to be strong and as fit and healthy as possible for the family. I've not been to the gym, and struggle even to do home workouts. However, this is not going to resolve quickly so I need to restore some measure of normality to my life so that I can continue to support the family.
We're waiting for the results of the tests, at the moment he's on some meds, he is fairly well in himself but cannot drive, cannot be left alone with responsibility for the children, and has short-term memory problems. He doesn't like being left on his own even for short periods of time so myself and his father, both being retired, are taking turns visiting.
You didn't need to know all that but sometimes I need to "talk" to someone.

@lesdarts180: stay strong! If he needs an operation, then he'll be free of the tumor and everything will be okay. I knew of a young boy who went through such a thing and he was more than fine afterwards, he must be well now, too! So it's good that they identified the cause, even if it's so scary. Thanks for the messages of support. My lovely daughter in law is American so all her family are far away. Her parents want to come over but we're waiting for a view of the longer term treatment plan before they fly over.
