Just the basics
Livestrong Elliptical, plenty of free weights, basic bench, chinup bar

my "archaic" basement gym. Bench with lat, preacher curl, leg extension curl attachments , free weights/dumbbells, spin bike...not pictured, incline sit up bench and door frame pull up bar. The bike is around 20 years old and everything else around 30 years. I've repaired and welded the bench a few times. Suits all my needs....the only upgrade I need is a thick floor mat.

I can understand how proud you are, your gym has a soul (none of commercial one has one) bcs. of all you mentioned. π1 -
Mine is a mess right now bc of the holiday bins! There's actually a decent squat rack in the right corner π I adore my home gym. Is it my happy place!1

I also have a compact rowing machine and bike trainer, both tucked away when not using.

I would someday like a weight bench and some other equipment, or maybe even a bow flex or something, but no space for it in this stage of life. Our oldest is 12 and starting to be more aware of his physical self so I can see him wanting to start doing some more with weights. Heβs still tiny though - 5β and 80ish lbs. I am anticipating a massive growth spurt this year.

I won't be sharing a pic because mine's all over my house, but I have a cage and treadmill in my living room, and a heavybag in my dining room. It's funny how many delivery people assume my husband is so lucky that I let him set this all up. On the plus side for me, I never have to nag him to take out the garbage, since that would just be fighting with myself.4 -
I'm lucky to have a single garage space for my gym. I mostly use my barbell, bench and free weights and occasionally the treadmill and ball etc. I'm in here at least 3-4 times a week and it's perfectly suitable for my needs. Working fulltime + a 3 hour daily commute + 4 kids means going to a gym is impossible.4 -

I was pushed outside of our flat to terace with iron π yes, it's great to be an idol for children.. My antisport 8 yrs is slowly finding a way to sport when he see parents0 -

Following, for ideas.
I have the room, but I'm hoping to figure out what single piece of weight-training equipment would be good for me (age 54) and my disabled older client (65, with multiple issues but getting better) to use for at-home physical therapy.1 -

I would say, that single mate.. yoga plus some very basic strength excercise(own weight, some light dumbells, resistance bands) .. would be great for the beginning and I'm sure educated physioterapeutist will suggest appropriate workout and equipment for your client (in this case I would really start by specialist) crossing fingers π1 -

We've been doing much of that since Feb, as rec'd by his PT at our local Veteran's hospital. (I WISH he'd try yoga, he's as stiff as a board! but he "...won't do that hippy-dippy junk!" )
He has a recumbent bike he rides daily (alternating days of 1/2 hr of own-weight and band work with a 1/2 hour ride, then the next day doing just one-hour rides). With this and dieting, he's lost 35 lbs and gained 1.5 inches in his thighs so far, cutting his insulin injections down by more than 60% WOOT! But he still has problems with balance, stemming as much, I think at least, from a lack of confidence as much as any lingering weakness.
But he's come pretty far... Back in Feb, he couldn't get in or out of bed without assistance or walk to the bathroom from the living room by himself. There's still a long way to go before he'll be where a man his age should be, that's why I keep an eye out for anything that sparks a "Hey... that'd be good for him!" moment.3 -

No matter how 'stiff" he is he is a true hero... No you both are. Maybe later he will be more open to try something not so manful. π I am sure you are very patient. My space is small. Aside from what's in the photos I have a yoga mat and a thicker exercise mat plus a number of exercise DVDs. This space is limited and my weights are low (max 12.5lbs) because I'm a smaller person. However, I'm at the point where I need to buy more dumbbells at higher weights.
We also have a Teeter contraption that my partner uses frequently as he has back problems. You can see part of that in the first photo.
My workout routine is primarily 30+ minutes on the treadmill and alternating days with dumbbells and crunches on the exercise mat.
You don't really need much to work our effectively. If you're a bigger person your dumbbells would be higher weights than what I have. But the rest of the equipment would be sufficient. I would love to have a bench but I have no space. This tiny bedroom also has a clothes drying rack, laundry bin and enormous shoe rack so there is no more space available.
