'The 3 Cup Diet'
(For sedentary lifestyle)
When your 3 meals in a day is placed inside these 3 6 oz cups. (Btw : 3 Meals are equivalent to 9 6 oz Cups in one day, and if you feel the urge to eat a snack then just go grab one 6oz cup to fill with snacks.)
Results : more energy, better sleep, not feeling stuffed but, satisfied
My 1200-1400 calorie target is fit inside these 3 small cups.
Any food is better hoewever, try to choose healthier foods.
Mine is protein-packed and little bit of carbs : sunny side up egg/corned beef, white rice, boiled tomatoes with fish sauce
This is by far the best food portion control I've ever done in my life!

What if choose three 6 oz cups of peanut butter? Is that okay?35

Glad you found something that works for you!
Measuring cups made me anxious - I was never sure how tightly to pack them, and didn't want to deprive myself or eat more than I intended. I have none of that ambiguity with a food scale.
I've been logging long enough that I know what will keep me full within my calories. Tonight, for example, was 100 g each of chicken and broccoli, 116 g of mashed potatoes, butter, with a serving of peaches for dessert.8 -

So popcorn would be out.8

This is potentially dangerous advice. Without any guidance about calorie intake and/or nutrition, there's no reason why someone following this "plan" to lose weight wouldn't just fill up their cups with low calorie vegetables, risking both undereating and poor nutrition.28

This type of portion control is not new but other methods I have seen like dividing a plate into regions has more instructions so that the meals are nutritionally balanced.
Even though I have gotten quite good at eyeballing portions when I need to do it I am always looking for a good alternative portion control system that would be easy to use on vacation. This cup system is not it.
I wish you the best of luck and I hope you find success with your cups.4 -
Oh and I do not want to judge because I don't know your situation but if there is anything you can do to move out of sedentary and into a lightly active lifestyle it would be a worthwhile thing to do.11

"Day"? As the diet is described in the OP, 2 cups of smoked almonds and 1 cup of vodka would just be breakfast!4 -

I think all your food for the day is supposed to fit in the cups. Unless you want a snack, in which case you get another cup, but I really wasn’t clear on that part.
Anyway, I want all my cups to be full of brownies.7 -
I want cups of peanut butter M&Ms please........all of my daily cups12

Thats okay! As long as you can follow the 3 cup. However, make sure to still get the nutrients for your bodies by incorporating fiber foods. 😉0 -

Sometimes when I crave snacks I add chocolate snack on one of my 3 cups 😂
At least we can be sure we didn't overeat!0 -

I do have an autoimmune disease which causes on and off lower extremities paralyzation, thats why I noted that this '3 cupdiet' fits for sedentary people.3 -

Don't worry! I'm on a sedentary lifestyle and my height is 4'11-5ft ish. I can definitely fit my 1200 to 1400 calories in those 3 cups per meal and I make sure I have my fiber, my white rice(carbs/grains), and my protein.
My breakfast goes between 300-400 calories, if I feel the urge to snack I just squeeze in 1 cup of snacks of boiled eggs, lunch goes between 400-500 cals,
Dinner goes between 300-400 cals.
Thats why I mentioned the 3 cup diet is for 'sedentary lifestyle. '
Another thing. I have an autoimmune disease which causes me on and off lower extremities paralyzation.

This would never work for me. I eat a lot of tomatoes, so if I eat only 3 tomatoes (each of which would fit into a cup) I would end up with less than 100 calories for the day. It's actually horrible for anyone who likes vegetables.8

Actually, I can eat 3 tomatoes in one cup. All I do is slice them. You can do it too 😉0
