No, people don't use those words often as words of endearment. In the US it is more like Honey, Sweetie, Babe/Baby, Love, Sugar
I think we mean it differently then.

I got a call from a random number asking if I would like to take part in a public opinion poll. I said "yes..ok", and then I asked him "how long does it usually take?" and he said "It takes about 20 minutes".
Then I suddenly said "Oh...sorry....I actually have to go"
Aint nobody got time for that!
