I have set myself a new goal for 2019 and a new UGW.
Things are looking good for my revised 2019 goal. Happy Scale has shown a steady downward trend since the end of July, despite having one or two lapses last round.

THERE ARE NO QUICK FIXES OR SHORTCUTS to achieving permanent change.
REMINDERS One or two thoughts which might give heart to some of you.- Daily weight fluctuations are normal, and can be as much as 2 lbs a day for no apparent reason.
- A general downward trend is what we are looking for.
- Eating out can cause apparent weight gain because of high sodium levels, but usually goes quickly. Drinking extra water helps with this.
- The human body does not react instantly to what we do to it. Sometimes it can take several days to see results.
- Plateaus are a normal part of the process. The body is consolidating and adapting to your new way of eating/exercising.
- The closer you get to your goal weight, the more difficult it becomes to lose weight, as your body becomes more efficient at using what you feed it.
- When you exercise you build muscle, which takes up less space than fat, so use measurements as well as weight to assess your progress.
- Getting/Staying fit and healthy requires a lifestyle change for most people.

Day/Weight/Comment
11/19--206.7 Did too much snacking yesterday. It was raining yesterday, so I didn't get to run. I think the weather is going to be better today, so I will try for the run again tonight.
11/20--205.9 I was this weight 4 days ago, let's see if it holds this time. Finished w5d2 of c25k yesterday. Strength coach tonight.
11/21--205.6 Tough workout yesterday. Rest day today.
11/22--205.6
11/23--206.7 Yesterday I started to feel like I was coming down with a cold, so I didn't workout yesterday. Instead, yesterday evening, I decided it would be better to do a lot of snacking, so today the weight is up and my stomach isn't feeling that great. My plan today had been to go out for a run and take the dog out for a long walk, but since I am still feeling under the weather I will be staying at home and drinking a lot of liquids. Hopefully the rest will keep me from getting a full blown cold.
11/24--207.6 Feeling a little better, but throat is still scratchy so no workout with my strength coach today. If the weather holds up I want to go out for at least a little walk, I feel weird not doing much over the last 24 hours. Another day of rest for me.
11/25--207.0 Just finished w5d3 of c25k...that's a 20 minute run! Did some extra snacking this evening and didn't drink much water today. We'll see how that affects the scale tomorrow

Ready for my round 33
OSW 88KG
RSW 59.45 kg (-28.55kg) or {- 62.9lbs}
Goal... Less than I started
11/19 59.95kg.not worried as I usually start the week like this and my body was totally empty after my tummy issues! 😳
11/20 60.15kg and I jumped off quickly before it changed its mind. Was high on calories yesterday but that will probably show up tomorrow. Gym crazy busy this morning.
11/21 60.75kg deserved and expected as calories at the high end. Need to get a handle on after work before dinner snacking which is a new issue this month!
11/22 60.15kg and a killer session in the gym. So ready for the weekend
11/23 60.3kg....scale couldn't choose between 60.15 and 60.45 so I split the difference.
11/24 60.15 kg which still leaves me up for the round so far and no real change since this time in October. So looking at the NSV.- since I started in January I have lost 8 inches from my chest (still a D-cup😉), 9.5 from both my waist and hips, and 5.5 from each thigh! I started out a size 18 and now wear a size 12 (UK size which is 38 in Euro and 8 in US) and sometimes a 10. 6 weeks until the end of the year and only 2 kg to get off...
11/25 61.25kg after a revolting eating day yesterday with massive overdose of calories for no reason. It will go up for a few days so I need to focus on getting back under for Sunday my weigh in day. Going back to basic keto and no snacks. Gym done already today.
11/26 60.75kg. Was perfect on calories and macros yesterday and no snacking at all. Going to do the same today.

Hi. My name is Trina.
This 10 days may well be a bit of a mess. We are going to a new restaurant for dinner tonight to celebrate my husband's birthday and my start of chemo tomorrow! Chemo starts tomorrow and could lead to loss of appetite and/or comfort eating and I think they may give me some steroids, so that would also complicate matters! I'm still trying to get down to 128, before officially starting to maintain, but mostly want to get and stay under 130.

11/20 136.5 Although we went out for dinner last night for my husbands birthday, I would say this weight was 90% stress and 10% calories! Today was the first day of chemo
11/21 136 This weight is chemo bloat. The IV did me in!
11/22 132.5 Glad to see my assessment of chemo bloat and stress were probably correct! I've been weighing for the last 3 days, although I just got around to reading and posting. I love you guys!
11/23 131 This looks more like it!
11/24 130.5 Glad to be back where I was hanging a week ago. I want to be careful to eat enough with chemo...but I have no intention of gaining!! I'm feeling pretty good, but off just enough to feel intimidated by 11 weeks until treatment is over!

Day/Weight/Comment
11/19 – 176.6 – It’s always nice to see a drop at the start of a round. Tuesday is my busiest day this semester, but a workshop and a last-minute commitment made this an especially tough one. No time to walk, but I met my calorie goals.
11/20 – 176.6 – Took my daughter out to lunch today for a little "mom TLC." She hit a deer on the highway last night and, although she wasn't injured, she was tired and shaken. She's also without a car. No walk and over on salt, sugar, and calories. I won’t be surprised to see a bounce in the next couple of days, but that's okay. Back on track tomorrow.
11/21 – 177.2 – As predicted, there’s that bounce. Small, but motivating. I stayed on track and met my goals today, including the walk. I had to really push myself to go, but the park was lovely in the hour before dusk and before long I could feel the tension dissolve.
11/22 – 177.2 – Rainy day, so I did some household chores before picking my grandsons up from school. Opened a bottle of wine for the grown-ups and made a salad to go with the kids’ choice of take-out for an easy dinner. Bacon pizza and pinot noir put me over my goal (but still under maintenance). With all the holiday prep ahead, it was a relaxing start to a busy weekend.
11/23 – 176.2 – Surprised to see a drop today, but hey, I’ll take it!. Walked in the park with my husband and then we split up the chores. He put the Christmas lights up outside and I got the fun job of cleaning out the fridge and the big freezer in the garage. Watching a whole lot of ice cream melt in the sink was a lesson in how my eating habits have changed – for the better! Now I just have to adjust my shopping habits. Met my calorie goal even with an extra glass of wine and a small piece of chocolate. Overall, another good day, but I'm wiped out! I'll catch up with all your posts tomorrow
11/24 – 176.6 – Trying to avoid putting more stuff in the fridge this week left me with an odd assortment of things to use up, so today’s meals were less well-balanced than I’d have liked. Over on calories, carbs, and salt. Ah, well…at least I stayed under maintenance calories. On the upside, I also made a minimally sweetened four-berry syrup with fruit I’d frozen this summer. It should make a gorgeous brunch cocktail mixed with prosecco next weekend 😊
11/25 – 177.6 – This is certainly a roller coaster round. Hope this is the top of the hill. Met my calorie gal but didn’t have time to walk. Too much to do before Thursday.

11/19 134.4 – 11.9 miles walked yesterday, all macros in green.
11/20 133.4 – yeay!!! happy dance, at least for now !! 12.27 miles walked yesterday, I really need to keep my mileage in double figures as many days as possible to make by year total of 3300 miles which I have done the last two years. My daily average so far this year is down – all due to outside influences, weather, my elderly father and his maiden aunt both had several weeks in hospital and due to their dementia need a relative with them almost all their waking hours, oh and did I mention the weather? So much rain this year for days at a time . I should not complain, I really feel for those people that are flooded out in their homes, such a dreadful situation. Still life happens and I'm trying to play catch up. All macros well in green
11/21 133.8 – 12.23 miles walked day yesterday. All macros well in green.
11/22 134.4 – yoyo!! Only 3.29 miles walked yesterday, mostly chasing my 19 month old DGS around (Granny day!).
11/23 134.4 – 9.77 miles walked yesterday, all macros well in green, scale will eventually catch up on good habits!
11/24 134 – 10.67 miles walked yesterday, carbs over, but calories well under. My DH has told me I need to get out of my OCD for walking, but it's easy for him his metabolism isn't like mine – I need to keep the furnace burning or the weight just goes back on and I don't want to have to starve/deprive myself of what I like to eat to keep my weight down. Don't get me wrong he is really supportive and loves me however I am, he can also see all the benefits of me losing weight and more especially that I am a happier person not only with myself but in life as a whole.
11/25 134 – 5.78 miles walked yesterday, calories just within limit, carbs slightly over – roast Sunday lunch with DSs!
11/26 133.6 – 9.87 miles walked yesterday. ALL macros well in green, feeling on top of the game at the moment and good.

@mrs_sutsie – I've had to be poppig out to our caravan on the drive too; our 'fridge broke down so all perisheable food had to be moved out there until it was repaired. Luckily that has been done now as it is no fun popping out for milk every time you make a drink when it is constantly pouring with rain!!!
@jenn990205 – Congrats on achieving maintenance weight even if the meds. and shingles have helped, - every cloud has a silver lining !! Keeping my fingers crossed for you to stay within this range.

Goal the next ten days:
1.) NO fried foods – 4/8
2.) Reach 6500 step goal – 4/6
3.) Go to bed before midnight – 0/5 (bankers hrs: 10:30 to 7:00)
<<<Round goal weight: 389.8 >>>
Day/Weight/Comment
11/19 394.8 0.0 – I am going to shoot for getting in the next decade this challenge. I need to work on getting in to bed by midnight more the next 10 days. Only 2 times last challenge. Lowered my goal to 5 this time. I am logging good. That is like taking a bath every day for me, so doing something more challenging for me that I need to stop that I have been letting creep back into my diet too much. Not a lot, but more than I would like.
11/20 394.4 -0.4 lbs.
11/21 392.6 -1.8 lbs. – It felt good to be able to move my ticker again on MFP! It had been a while. Staying the course. Two days in a row that I got in my steps goal and a few walks. Eating pretty good. I have been trying to get in my 8 glasses of water and I finally got in 8 glasses today! It has been a while since I did that. The little cup at the end of my diary is helping. I have been averaging 6. Because of my incontinence issue 8 to 10 is about all I can do if I don't want to be up all night. I have a hard-enough time with sleep as it is, so I do not want to be up and down every hour and half because I had too much water. Have a great weekend if I am not able to get back on tomorrow. I am at year end at work and it is a very busy time right now and when I get home, the last thing I want to do is get on a computer. Keep up the good work! :flowerforyou:
11/22 391.2 -1.4 lbs. – Staying on track. A little over calories. I did not get in my steps. I am logging it all and no fried and/or fast food. All the same for me. Goal to at least maintain another weekend. I was looking at my scale app and I have not gained weight in 8 days and that is a record I want to keep going for a while. I know it will not last forever but hey I can keep it going as long as I can right lol You all are helping me keep my head in the game. Thanks for being here and have a great weekend!! :flowerforyou:
11/23 389.6 -1.6 lbs. - below goal weight for this round! -- even though short lived
11/24 391.4 +1.8 lbs.
11/25 390.6 -0.8 lbs. – Bad news from my sister over the weekend. She told me and my sick Dad she is moving to NY when my Dad is in a nursing home and it is only me and her. Did not consult me, no family meeting or nothing. At 1st I was furious, then I calmed down and told her via text if her conscious let’s her do this so be it, I will do the best I can for Dad. She can make her excuses and justify to herself but at the end of the day, she is the one who has to live with her choice, not me. But she better know I will not be giving her any reports. I asked her to stay. My Dad is in hospice and he has been in there since August. We don’t know how long he will live and I guess her wants are more important than our Fathers. The good thing is I did not emotional eat over it much. I stayed in control as much as I could. I was not perfect but I did not binge. I am still very sad that she can do this and still have a good conscious. When she does not have to. Sigh….It is not in my control, so it is what it is. Overall, I am down 0.6 lbs. over the weekend. I am up so late tonight I probably will not have a chance to weigh in the morning.

My journey … "I May Not Be Where I Want To Be, but I’m Not Where I Use To Be!"In 2003 Weighed over 600 lbs.My highest weight was 611 in 2003. Weight in 2004 before weight loss surgery was 580. Lowest weight after surgery was 302 in 2007. "I May Not Be Where I Want To Be, but I’m Not Where I Use To Be!"
In 2005 Weighed under 400 lbs.
In 2007 lowest weight after surgery 302lbs
I joined MFP on March 27, 2010 weighing in at 388 pounds. I was re-gaining weight and stumbled up on it while trying to get back on track. I was determined never to see 400+ on that scale again for me.
I have been morbidly obese all my life. I have a lifetime of mental and physical scars from obesity. In October 2004 I had Gastric Bypass surgery. WLS (Weight Loss Surgery) was the best gift that I could and did give to myself.
Between 2008 and 2010 I gradually gained back 80 of almost 300 pounds lost initially after weight loss surgery. I never reached my goal weight of 200 pounds. I still managed to keep off over 65 percent of the weight I lost which is very good and I am very proud of my accomplishments since 2004. It has literally changed my life for the better on all levels. I am here to lose re-gained weight and to reach my initial goal weight. I am in no hurry. I am taking this one day at a time and I am in it for the long haul.
Surgery did not fix the head. It is a good tool and the best gift I have given to myself, but it was not the easy way out as many people think. Once the honeymoon period is over after the WLS it is up to the patient to keep the weight off.
On August 29, 2011-- I was admitted to Intensive Out Patient Eating Disorder Program to learn how to manage my binge eating disorder effectively. The program is wonderful indeed and will be instrumental in me reaching all of my goals. The focus of this program was how to eat and not diet. Weight loss was not a goal of the program. I actually gained 20 pounds in program. But I had to get thru a lot of stuff and my the time I was released I had stopped gaining. I was discharged from program on December 3, 2011.
My tool is still working for me today. My head is still the issue. SO the struggle continues. I will never beat myself up again. I fight the fine fight faithfully and positively everyday. Because that is what will get me to my goals one day. Even though it may not show up on the scale every day -- Everyday I make progress one way or another just by showing up, waking up and trying.
Giving up is not an option for me. Perseverance, Patience, & Positive thinking will help me reach my goals…… and the same is true for you too!! We have the power within us.Round 64 - SW 373.4 EW 369 (-4.4)

1 - Track my calories daily

4.- Stay on current weight or less
Date – Weight in of the morning– Summary of the previous day:
11/19 152.8 (-1.6) 1194 cal, 4310 steps, very surprised by this drop but who am I to complain I did feel like doing a happy dance this morning when I saw the scales as it's the first time in 10 years that I've seen 152.x which is under 70kg!! 😉 On a different subject,I’m painting my living room at home, which isn’t the best of ideas in winter, but it’s keeping me active and stopping me from snacking in the evenings! Today I’m going to the gym at lunch time and painting the 2nd layer on the ceiling this evening. Food is generally on track and I've downloaded an app to remind me to drink more water.
11/20 153.4 (+0.6) 1268 cal, 14.283 steps, 3.85 km run. A good day all over yesterday. A slight gain today but not too worried. I spent a good month oscillating between 154.x and 153.x so I’m hoping now that it’ll be between 153 and 152 😉 Nothing special planned today but the usual and painting this evening.
11/21 153.4 (0.0) Status quo, food was on target but I didn’t do any major activity than paint my living room after work in the evening! I’m going to the gym for a short workout during my lunch hour, tonight more painting and that’s about I !
11/22 152.2 (-1.2) way over on calories, 10013 steps, 3km run. Great loss but I think it’s a fluke and I’m pretty sure it’ll be up tomorrow. I had cake yesterday and some chocolates so it’s bound to go up lol Yesterday evening I went for a quick run and then continued painting the living room till 10pm. I’m hurting all over I think it’s due to the painting not the run lol I should be finished by tomorrow, I've had enough of painting now Then I have the weekend to clean and put everything back in place. I’m going out tonight so that’ll be hard, I think I’ll plan a good dinner so I’m not hungry. It’s a board games evening which is normally chips and beer, I’ll have to bring some healthy options but it’ll be hard to resist!
11/23 DNW
11/24 155.6 (+3.4)
11/25 154.4 (-1.2) so the weekend was a total wipe-out, I visibly did too much these last couple of weeks and I was sick all weekend with an arthritis flare and ended up eating emergency rations from the freezer as my hands were so painful (pizzas and frozen tv dinners). I think I need to get some healthier emergency rations in my freezer for the next flare. Still hurting all over today but at least not bedridden, however I'm going to have to skip any exercise till all the swelling goes down. Also going to try and be extra careful this week as we're going to visit family in Switzerland on Thursday for a long weekend, I know the food there is not exactly diet friendly.
11/26 154.4 Status quo, I was undercalories but with no exercise I think I'm stuck here for a while. If I manage to stay around this weight till the New Year I'll be happy tbh.

Back for Round 96
Female / Age 62 / 5'2"
OW: 158.5 (12/30/18)
UG: 135.0 (for now, healthy weight for me)
Intro:Let me introduce myself. I struggled with my weight as a teen, topping out at nearly 200. I dropped it after high school and got to a healthy weight. Every major life changed has brought weight back on - having kids, pre-menopause, menopause, family tragedy, post menopause. I've knocked it back down each time, and have been surprised that each time required a different strategy, and resulted in a different type of lifestyle change to maintain. Each time as been much harder and slower. At this point, it's moving off at a snail's pace.
Motivation. I have a hyatial hernia. It does not bother me as long as I keep the weight at 150 or below. Every female on my mother's side has had arthritic knees, and I'm starting to feel twinges. They have also sustained falls and broken bones. My husband had a major health scare a coupe of years ago. The idea of being put out of commission by a preventable injury or illness scares the bejimminies out of me.
Goals. The goals at this stage are to drop weight to a healthy range, realign my eating style to a lifestyle that will keep me healthy into my golden years, and strengthen the muscles that support my knees, ankles, and shoulders, along with my core, to prevent injury.
Dropping weight post menopausal has been so difficult, I need this to be the last time. 10-15 pounds used to be easy to drop, so that was always my warning bell to focus. Not so much now. Looks like a 3-5 pound fluctuation will be it.
A healthy weight for me is 135-140. I've always looked anorexic at 120. We'll see how things are at 135, and go from there.
Round StatsR95: SW 146.3 GW 146.0 EW 145.3 Results -1.0
Strategy: Up the hydrating foods. Fruit with breakfast. Salad/veggies as bulk of lunch. Healthy dinner. Limit/eliminate processed carbs and sugars. Zero calorie intake after 8pm. Strength exercises 3 days on/1 day rest. Regular movement through day to compensate for desk job.
R96 Challenges: I'm hosting Thanksgiving for the first time in several years. Son is truly invested in "tradition" - meaning high sugar, high carbs. I'm going to have to plan a menu that balances that with healthy. And, I'm going to have to balance "treat" with discipline for myself.
R96 SW: 145.3 (11/18 This is a whoosh, I'm expecting a small spike.)
R96 GW: 144.0 (Should be doable even with a spike.)
11/19 (T) 144.7 Ok. I'm in shock. No bounce? I've been on plan, so maybe I've busted through? It's been a full week since I tweaked the plan to add fruit to breakfast and a handful of spinach at lunch. And it's been a good exercise week. Only one spike - and that was a sodium bloat. So maybe ...
11/20 (W) 144.7 Still no spike. Dare I believe it?! Good day yesterday. Ate within plan. Got my strength exercises in early. Mornings are proving better for me than evenings - and possibly more effective. I've been tied to the desk this week, so my steps (and overall calories burn on Fitbit) are down. Will need to party Attention to that and start moving more.
11/21 (T) 145.3 There it is. And more of a bounce than spike Missed workout yesterday and ate later than normal, violating my no calories after 8pm. I'm working on a deadline at work - looking forward to December when things settle down to normal crazy.
11/22 (F) 145.0 Did pretty good on Thursday. Started feeling a bit "puny." Listened to my body and just rested, skipping workout.
11/23 (S) 145.6 Tough couple of days. Felt "something" coming on. Loaded up on Emergen-C and just got some rest. Scale has bounced up, but trend continues to drop. I'm feeling better today and will ease back onto plan.
Lots to do to prep for Thanksgiving. I'm off work until the week after, so I can tackle it a bit at a time. Expect activity to increase which should set me back on track. 👣
11/24 (S) 146.1 Saturday was a wash. Energy levels low. Husband cooked from cupboard, so high sodium day.
11/25 (M) 146.4 I did get back to my workout on Sunday! The day started out well enough. I think this is still bloat from Saturday's sodium.

Ultimate Goal- Maintain 130-135
Goal for this round is to get my average down by any number. I’m working on building lean muscle while blasting fat, so my scale isn’t moving much right now. But one of these days it’s gonna do a dive.

11/26 - DNW - Last minute change, went to BF's. We had dinner out at our favorite restaurant with the kids, then watched the football game until bedtime. My back is still killing me. BF gave me a massage and now my back has a huge bruise. Apparently its really locked up to bruise like that just from a massage. Parents will be here tonight and thus the struggle with food begins. Its going to be interesting to let them see how I live and I'm not sure if that's a good or bad thing. Going to be a long day of anticipation for their arrival. Woke up at 330 this morning so came into work early so I could get off work early and clean up the house. Was going to yesterday but BF and I needed to hash out some moving logistics (money-wise) before my parents get here and I won't get to see him. He's having Thanksgiving Friday with the kids since their mom gets them Thanksgiving day so at least I'll have that with him before he moves.
11/27
11/28
Previous Day's Comments11/19 - Well, long story short, I got inspired by BF moving that I decided to purge my own house (the kids and I can help him purge and pack. If I move, I'm on my own). That turned into "I just made this mess, now I have to sort it" which turned into "oh my! its past my bedtime and I haven't eaten dinner or showered!" So I only had one meal yesterday and that was a piece of lasagna. Oops. Today isn't much better since I didn't cook to bring anything so I'm eating the last can of soup I have as backup at work. More purging tonight which is keeping me active and it feels really nice. Plus, trash goes out today so I can finally clear the pile by the door (trash can was full). Hopefully I don't donate too much more stuff or I won't be able to take it all in one trip! One room down (minus the things that I'm selling) and just one more big bin to sort and room 2 is down. All that's left after that is living room, kitchen, and bedroom!
11/20 - This seems a little more accurate as I actually had more than one meal, unlike Monday. Still not so great on water, but better than I was before. I desperately need to go grocery shopping but I'm so tight on money I'm not sure how to pull it off. BF's tonight as I sold my desk and chair I haven't used in 2 years. Its only $20 but that's a tank of gas in my work car! Too bad I have to deliver. At least I can stay with BF and spend some more time with him while he's here.
11/21 - At BF's house. Probably will be again tonight and through the weekend so no chance to weigh in. As long as I stay on track, I'll be content. Coordinated moving a bit more. Financially, it's gonna hurt. And I might have to drive the truck down while he gets a uhaul and dollies my car so he can save money not going back and forth on his own while trying to work. I'm okay with that! Any chance to go to Texas, I'm game. Will be difficult food and water wise, but I've got a couple weeks to figure out how I'm going to manage. The 11 hour drive alone to come back will be horrible, though.
11/22 - At BF's house, no scale. I was trusted with a coworker's borrowed large trailer to tow BF's beloved motorcycle and his riding lawnmower over to my place for temp storage until he can come get them once he's settled in Texas. Made me feel so amazing to be able to do that, even through rush hour traffic. Reminded me of being back on the farm. Confidence boost for sure. Its the little things but I really needed something to be proud of during this rough time. This weekend will be just packing. Parents coming to visit next week, first time in a year I've seen them. And they're bringing my puppy! (she's 8 but she's a puppy) so I'm sure to eat a lot of my mother's lovely cooking and cuddle with my pup. Mentally preparing now for that.
11/23 - BF's, no scale
11/24 - BF's, no scale
11/25 - BF's, no scale. Had a good weekend. Messed up my back in my sleep last night and its painful to breathe. Its right below my shoulder blades and across my entire back. I'm not quite sure what I did, but ouch! Hopefully it goes away tomorrow as my parents and pup will be arriving in the evening. I'm getting more and more bummed about BF leaving me for Texas, now. Its happening so soon! I have no idea when I'll be able to visit him next and he was talking about not coming back up to get the rest of his stuff until about April. Waaah. Still applying. Maybe I can be down there by then and have all my friends and my BF again. This transition is really messing with me (I'm struggling to eat a full meal and then I get super nauseous). Hopefully, soon, it'll all be over. Mentally I may miss him and feel a bit lonely, but the stress of the actual packing and moving will be over. Keeping my head up as best I can through it. At least I won't have to worry about sticking to paleo/primal once he's gone since I'll be completely in charge of food, even on weekends. Silver lining (:

Goal Weight: 284.9 lbs
Day/Weight/Comment
11/19: 286.4 lbs (-0.5) … back down under the -100 mark again. I actually ate at maintenance yesterday (well, within budget if you count the exercise calories, I tend not to) and didn’t fast through breakfast as I usually do. I had a heck of an appetite. I stepped onto the scale fully expecting to see an increase, but I saw a small loss instead. Pretty happy with that.
11/20: 285.1 lbs (-1.3) … a new low. Feeling pretty good this morning!
11/21: 283.8 lbs (-1.3) … another new low! This is already a very good week, hopefully I can hang onto this progress. Today is the last day of our step challenge at work, and my team is still holding onto the lead (and has done so for the past week and a half). I’m averaging 15,000 steps per day since 11/4, which is kind of insane for me considering my ~6-8k average before that. I’m committing to 20,000+ steps today just to make sure we cement our lead and have no surprises in the morning.
11/22: 283.3 lbs (-0.5) … another new low. And we did it! My team won the step challenge. I pushed myself pretty hard yesterday, doing 3+ hours of walking (23,500 steps) to ensure we held onto the lead. Going to let myself rest today, and then go back to trying to make sure I get around 10,000 per day.
11/23: 283.1 lbs (-0.2) … another new low. How I love typing that. I’m kind of surprised -- I was pretty hungry yesterday and ate a bit more than I typically do. I was expecting an uptick. I’m about to head off to my niece’s birthday party, where I hope to be able to behave in terms of what I eat
11/24: 284.0 lbs (+0.9) … a little uptick after some weekend indulging.
11/25: 284.7 lbs (+0.7) … and a little more. Still doing fine for the round and I expect to balance back out around 283 by the end of the week.
11/26: 284.8 lbs (+0.1) … fairly steady at least today. .1 lbs is nothing. A bit sore this morning after two days at the gym in a row. I hadn’t meant for the sessions to be so close to each other, but last week was pretty hectic. I didn’t get a chance to go to the gym until Sunday morning.

11/19 177.2lbs! Holy hell - this has GOT to be from eating out 4 days in a row, even if I am trying to make good choices. I'm sure I've had more sodium in the last week than in the prior month. Also, very little sleep these last days: 4h13m/58. This is not a great start to the new round, but better than ending it like this!
11/20 177.2lbs 6h16m/80 - training this morning... I am not letting this get in my head.
11/21 176.3lbs 6h33m/77 - it may not be a whoosh, but at least it's coming off. Good lesson to learn early on in my gym challenge... severely limit restaurant meals. NSVs help, too... a pair of workout capris are loose now - like, I can't wear them for cardio loose, or I'll lose them. 😉
11/22 176.8lbs 6h47m/82 - frustrated and upset. Will talk to my trainer, maybe cut my calories. B is not a happy camper right now.

Round 96
As 2019 winds down my goal wt for Jan 1st is 262 which would give me a loss for the year of 15 lbs. I think that will put me in a good spot heading in to 2020. I will be 55 in a couple of weeks and it would be awesome to hit my goal wt this year and finally have a handle on this weight thing. A pound a week in 2020 will put me there. Good luck everyone and have a great round.

Day/Weight/Comment
11/19 – 144 – It seems that Tuesdays are my weekend bump days now. Last week I jumped to 145.5 on Tuesday, so it looks like I’m on a downward trend.
11/20 – 143.5 – I’m really hoping I can get lower than this before the weekend. I packed an extra low calorie lunch for today and am planning to get some extra water in.
11/21 – 143 – OK! This is the lowest weight I’ve seen in the past couple months.
11/22 - 144
11/23 – 144.5
11/24 - 145
11/25 – 145.5 – Two parties this weekend did me in. I could have eaten better, but I also could have done a lot worse.
11/26 – 145.5 – The good news is I didn’t bump up again. The bad news is that I can feel the few pounds I have gained since I quit smoking and I’m coming up on 4 days of Thanksgiving and OSU/Michigan game parties. However, with the inspiration from this group, I’m going to enjoy the next week and then get back on track in time for Christmas parties. Even if I gain a few more pounds, if I didn’t have this community, I would have gained a LOT more by now.

11/19: 159.0-Needed an active rest, did full body body stretching, wow that felt good-need to make it a habit.
11/20: 159.0-30 minutes rowing. Stretching hammies and hip flexors has done wonders for my knees, even my feet feel better.
11/21: 159.8-Always disappointing to see a bump up, but learning not to give it much credence, which is progress too.
11/22: 159.4-Some yard work and more stretching; should be able to get back to N2R next week.
11/23: 159.2-Good long walk in early a.m., but otherwise a bit of a lazy day.
11/24: 159.2-40 minutes rowing, never thought I would be able to write that!
11/25:159.0-Off topic: Am I the only one that expects to be dropped into a new post entry when using the “quote” function? ▪11/26 - 183.4 - IF/18hrs. 14g carbs. Meal times~ 4pm, 7:30.
Dropped calories by 60, carbs down to 40g, not much change in macros. 😐 I'll stay with this for a week or two and see what happens. Last night, first strength workout in 2 weeks.

11/26 (T) 146.2 Yesterday was much better. Started the holiday cleaning, but moved outside with the milder weather. Cleaned up the front garden and swept pine needles from the porch and front walk. Stayed on plan. Today's the shopping and the rest of the cleaning.

2. Due a toning workout for 15 minutes 5X a week
3. Count calories, less pasta, bread
11/19 165.8 Accomplished goals.
11/20 165.8 Accomplished goals
11/21 166.0 Surprised at the gain since I was busy yesterday, hence not much snacking and came in at about 1100 calories but I also had class in the afternoon so not as mobile.
11/22 164.8 Accomplished goals plus cross country skied a mile. Today, might not be as good, have to go shopping in town so might not get in all my exercise.
11/23 165.4 Accomplished goals. Not sure why I am up. Wait and see, might have to add more goals to next round.
11/24166.0 Not sure why this gain, except on the weekend I only get in my two miles of walking and no workout due to family being home. I did try eating breakfast.
11/25 166.0 Same as yesterday. accomplished goals But I have been more hungry the last two days but stayed in my calories but ate breakfast and could not fend off the snacking on popcorn in the evening. Today going to get back to the workout and maybe no breakfast, and eliminate snacking after 8 pm.
11/26 165.0 Accomplished goals, no breakfast, apparently breakfast is bad for me.

Goals: stay away from sugar. Stay close to the green zone. Appreciate any loss.
11/19 134: neighbor brought freshly baked bread after dinner. So I ate some and don't regret it. But I did go up to maintenance and ate back all my exercise calories for the day. Today I better not.
11/20 133.6: added 5 mins to elliptical! I think I need to have less calories early in the day so I can eat a proper dinner, otherwise it's extremely hard to stay within my 1200 and feel sane.
11/23: 134.4 I don't know what's going on. Actually, I do know. It started with the pasta on Thursday, which was delicious. Then yesterday, I ate within reason but basically I'm eating at maintenance. Somehow I have to cut the dessert in the evening. until that point I'm fine and then I go over.
It helps to see the reminder "don't stay away. It's a journey, and we're not here to judge but to support", so I'm just repeating it if someone else feels like me this morning.
Today I will take it for today.
11/24: 134.4 friends over for dinner and I felt pressured to have dessert. The good news is that I took a glass of wine and had maybe 1 oz but nobody noticed.
11/25: 133.2 was really careful the last two days. Yesterday i was at a friend's for lunch and asked to serve myself instead of her serving me, so loaded up on the veggies and salad rather than the carbs. And ate only half the dessert. The big victory was having toast for dinner instead of what I cooked for the family because that would have been very high calorie meal. That helped me stay in the green. Let me try and do this again today.
11/26: 134.6 I didn't do it again. I ate a lot of cheese for dinner. That was silly.16 -
End Weight from last round - 176.4
11/19 - 175.4 Good day yesterday however very little exercise. I did make a few laps around the office to get in some extra steps - better than nothing. Need to find my fitbit, dust it off, fire it up and get those step numbers up. Gallbladder acting up. I've had occasional attacks but not often enough to cause concern. I'm taking ibuprofen and hoping it goes back to sleep soon lol
11/20 - 174.6 Stayed on course eating healthy. Back to pre-weekend weight and down a bit. The gallbladder pain is gone. It is sunny and a bit cool but it should be a beautiful day. Feeling thankful, optimistic and motivated
11/21 - 175.4 Late night salty snack - pretzels and wheat thins. I knew better but I was under on my calories and had a stressful day so told myself it was okay (NOT). I need to stock more healthy go to late night snacks.
11/22 - 175.0 No LNS. High carb dinner but still under on my calories. Found my fitbit and it is on the charger. Goal - 6500+ steps today. Weekend is here again.

11/25 - 179.2 No words. Just have to try harder. Its not going to be an easy week

11/19 162.1 WTH? I stayed within calories but too much sodium and too many carbs. Usually, I'm not big on carbs but lightened up stroganoff still has a lot of noodles. I finally made it to the gym to lift weights, which is probably part of the retained water issue and all of the sore muscle issues. I have been so happy to walk again after the pulled hamstring in August that I've really neglected weight lifting. I'm sure this uptick will be gone in a day or two so I'm not sweating it. Headed back to StL today. It's a lovely sunny fall day so I will definitely go for a walk somewhere between KC and STL, either along the river or a park closer to KC. The stupid tilt of the earth making it harder to walk before dark
11/20 No Scale Great walk last night. Ended up going 4.75 miles. My app was paused for a long time and I didn't notice because the views were so beautiful and the book I was listening to was sooo good. OOPS! Ended up finishing in the dark. I wasn't happy with myself, my BF called me just as I was finishing and he was mad at me (I don't blame him, it was dumb). I'm on a very rural trail by myself - which he hates already but then on top of that now it's dark. Probably not the safest thing. I am going to change my schedule so I leave KC earlier in the day and can finish walking before dark. All that being said, I had a great calorie day, even stayed low on sodium. A couple of pics to justify my lateness.
11/21 No Scale A good 4-mile walk last night. The scenery was not nearly as beautiful but it was still nice. I was done well before dark. It's a state park and I will go back. Lots of BIG hills. Another decent food day and TOM is almost over so I hope to see a good number on the scale tomorrow. Not looking forward to the boring drive home in the rain Oh well. No exercise today, I need a rest day.
11/22 162.4 Not what I expected. Not happy with it, but it is what it is I guess. I had Vietnamese last night with maybe too much sodium. Whatever it is it won't be here long. I can still make it to 15X by the end of the round. I hope everyone has a good weekend.
11/23 and 11/24 163.1 More bad food choices, not calorie-wise but high sodium. I walked 3 miles on Saturday and 5 on Sunday.
11/25 163.2 I'm feeling sluggish today. I'm not sure if it's a food hangover from lasagna last night (birthday party) or tired from walking 5 miles yesterday. I've finally figured out that any pasta will hang on for a couple of days like sodium. Since I went over on both last night I'm afraid I won't be seeing 15X this round. It's all I can do to not just give up until after thanksgiving. It's starting today with a work t-day here at the office today, a full big deal meal on Thanksgiving itself then a mini one next Sunday. A walk tonight instead of the gym because it's beautiful.
11/26 161.9 Back down again. When I saw 163 it took the wind out of my sails a little, I knew it would come down and it did but weight loss is like an uphill journey all the way. It can be exhausting. I have three days to lose 2 pounds and one of those days is Thanksgiving. HAHAHAHAHA Ok, Round 97 is my Round to get out of Obeseland.16 -

Day/Weight/Comment
11/19 - 168.8
Yesterday was a gorgeous day and I went for I lovely walk along one of our three rivers. It was inspiring. And I’m happy to be starting a new round — I’m finally feeling focused and determined to stick to the healthier me plan. Many thanks to you lovely people for providing inspiration, example, and a safe place to slip up for a while.
11/20 - 168.8
I did well with eating goals yesterday though I did have a small glass of Bailey’s last night. I had a bagel this morning — and thoroughly enjoyed it! But have stuffed portobellos planned for lunch and veggie dinner. Feeling pretty much on track.
11/21 - 171.6
WHAAAAA? Clearly that’s not actual weight gain! I did eat dinner (all vegetarian dishes at master gardener meeting) later than usual, and some of the food was a bit salty and I didn’t get enough water yesterday, but really? 3 pounds??? I expect it to be gone tomorrow! Jeesh!
11/22 - 170.4
I’m a little surprised it’s still up there, but ok, I can’t control the scale, just my behavior, I ate responsibly yesterday. It is what it is!
11/23 - 171
I over ate last night — ugh. Today I have to bake a loaf of bread for bread communion tomorrow, but I won’t sample! I don’t know why I can’t seem to get a grip on my snacking, even though I’m thoroughly disgusted with the weight I’ve gained back. Monday I see my integrative medicine doctor and I’ve decided I won’t let the nurse weigh me. Depressing enough to see my nekkid number at home before breakfast —I’m not getting on a scale fully clothed after eating! Have a good weekend, all.
11/24 - 171
Bread baked — cherry quick bread with dried cherries and pecans. Sliced it this morning but I did not sample - yay me! I’m going to try not to sample more than one or two of the offerings this morning. And @quiltingjaine, yeah, I expect an argument from the nurse, esp. if I get the cranky one, but I’m determined. I know I’ve gained. I don’t need an overweight nurse and overweight doctor lecturing me about it!
11/25 - 171
Ok, so I did sample all the breads yesterday. The whole shebang didn’t add up to more than a slice or a little more, and I ate responsibly the rest of the day.
11/26 - 171.4
But I think my scale is off because I did step on the dr’s scale yesterday, after a big breakfast and fully clothed including shows, and it read 175. One of them is obviously off. Anyway, it’s fine for now. My bloodwork is all spot on, bp 118/76, and I feel great. I’m not going to bend myself out of shape about the weight and focus instead on eating whole, unprocessed foods and cutting back on snacks. I’m reading Michael Pollen’s In Defense of Food (Yes, I’m 10 years behind) and it’s an interesting read, especially re. macros and other individual nutrients. Anyone else read it?

Hi, I’m Karen and I’m 53.
OSW-187 Sept. 2018
Gym weight lifting class 2 x week
Walk +/- 7 miles 3 x week
Drink plenty of water, alcohol on weekends only.
11/18-172 Got my big walk in today and was within my calories.
11/19-170-What a difference it makes to be eating right and walking instead of salty food and traveling. Glad to be home.
11/20-169-I’m off to the gym this morning, will make a ground turkey meatloaf. I’m hoping to stay on track.
11/21-167-The gym was a full body workout with cardio, rough but glad I did it. My meatloaf was the best ever-I fried two onions before adding it to the mix. I’ll get a big walk in today.
1/22-168-Got a big walk in, but not enough water, even though I ate good. It’s Friday!!!!!
11/23-165-That is just because I didn’t feel like eating dinner so I had a drink instead. I tried to close out the food diary and got the lecture of not eating enough calories....I was not hungry though, so I lied and told MFP I ate 3 cheese sticks.😂
11/24-168-This will go down tomorrow. That is the result of no walk and 1/2 of a deli sandwich....🤷♀️
11/25-169-It didn’t go down because I sat and sewed all weekend, Ate good and drank water and zero exercise. It’s Monday!
11/26-It was awfully windy here yesterday and a walk was not a good idea. So, I sewed all day. Today I’ll get a big walk in before I go to work for a while. I am really glad to be in the 160’s.
I’m glad you are all here. I have my coffee with you each morning !! 😊☕️12
