Nothing special about losing weight on a vegan diet.
One thing I'll point out, given the focus on carbs lately: Much of plant based protein comes with some carbs. That's completely fine, not a problem at all. It's not essential to do low carb, or vegan keto, or anything like that, in order to lose weight.
It's important to get enough protein. There's no particular reason to get any particular level of carbs, unless you have a diagnosed health condition for which it matters (such as diabetes), or you find carbs particularly satiating or appetite triggering, or you find that some level of carb intake is important to you personally for energy level.
Other than those things, which are very individual, you can lose weight eating any level of carbs.
For sound nutrition, eat enough protein, eat enough healthy fats, eat plenty of varied, colorful fruits and veggies. If you're vegan, pay attention to the micronutrients that can be more challenging (not impossible) to get in adequate amounts, like B12, calcium, iron, etc. To manage weight, eat the right number of calories. That's pretty much it.
On the off chance that you're not now vegan, but are considering becoming vegan to lose weight (as your post isn't crystal clear on that point ): Weight is about calories, primarily. Veganism doesn't automatically cause weight loss (or prevent it). If becoming vegan leads a person to eat fewer calories than their body burns, they'll lose weight. If it causes them to eat more calories than they burn, they'll gain weight. These things are true whether they count the calories or not.
I'm not vegan, but I've been vegetarian for 45+ years. I was a thin vegetarian back in the 1970s, became a fat vegetarian, then an obese one. I stayed obese for around 30 years +/- . Back in 2015, I used MFP to log my food and count calories, and became a healthy weight again, and I've stayed at a healthy weight since. FWIW, I at around 150g carbs daily while losing, and around 200g now (100g protein, 50g fats, in round numbers, FTR).

During one of my previous weight loss attempts I was convinced by someone I met that if I went vegan the weight would just fall off. So I decided to try it for a while.
Not only was I miserable because I couldn't eat all the foods I liked but I don't think I've ever stacked on as much weight as quickly. Turns out that my vegan tastes tended to run to some VERY calorie dense options.
All this to say that there's nothing inherent in a vegan diet that will make you lose weight.7 -
Eat low on the calorie density scale. Cut out processed foods, breads with little nutritional value, oils, high sugar and overly salty foods. Look up Dr. McDougall’s Maximum Weight Loss program. Dr. Fuhrman has a weight loss program too but I was always hungry on it despite it having healthy fats. McDougall emphasizes high whole food carbohydrates and very low fat. I find it very satisfying. All our bodies are different however. I weigh and measure all my food and track everything I put into my mouth. 62 lbs down, 15 to go, 68 years old and on no meds.4
