Hey guys/gals !
I'm hoping someone could help me out!
I have been eating alllll junk these last few weeks leading up to the holiday. I feel like I need a good cleanse/ junk detox to kickstart myself to get back on track! Anyone have some suggestions what I should do? The least involved the better.. as I am a very busy full time working/ mom of 3 little ones!
TIA!

You don't need to "cleanse". Your body does that naturally for you. Just start eating the foods that you want to eat.27

they have several links on this board that addresses the issue that our bodies do not need to be cleansed or detoxed or anything like that. Just begin eating healther as you decide and our bodies will do all "that" for us- no teas, no powders or juices etc.JMHO9

This. You do not need a "cleanse" or a "detox." You don't need to "kickstart" your body. All you need to do is eat the foods that make you feel good, in portions that fit your goals.18 -

It sounds like that is what got the OP in her situation in the first place.
Perhaps a higher percentage of veggies and fruit in her diet compared to less nutrient dense items.8 -

What I mean by "want to eat" is the foods that she is intending to eat when she considers herself "on track". So I don't know exactly what on track looks like for her, but she can just eat at that target. There is nothing special she needs to do above and beyond that to detox herself.22 -
Whatever makes me use the washroom usually helps me feel much better. Like coffee.
Juicing.
Drinking fruit smoothies.4 -
Just get back on your healthy track, and drink enough (not crazy much) water or other fluids. You'll be fine.
The so-called "cleanses" just put a different stress on your body, not improve it. Just let your liver, kidneys, excretory system do the job, while you treat them kindly.
Everything will be fine.19 -
Cleanse. 4 tbsp. Epson Salt. 20oz of water... you will "cleanse". Just make sure you have the extra soft toilet paper!🤣 NO! Dont do this.7

Just cut out the junk. Try to base your meals arounds fresh vegetables. Maybe make a nice mixed vegetable soup? No need for a cleanse. Just quit putting what you don't want in your body and feed it the nutrients it needs.13

I thought that was pretty clearly what you meant, since OP had mentioned WANTING to be back on track!
I agree with this advice -- since OP already has an idea of what healthy eating looks like for her, just doing it is the best option.
OP, if you are struggling with something like meal planning you can sometimes make it simpler by making breakfast and lunch pretty much the same daily (at least for a while) but for varying fruits and veg, and having a simple template for dinner like protein/veg/starch. I often eat somewhat more simply when getting back to it -- in fact, I likely will when I finish up all my seasonal leftovers.9 -
Just start tracking what you are eating. As accurately as possible... Even if over calories. Make small changes over time and you’ll find yourself back on track.3

OP, if your desire to do a cleanse is as much for a mental reset, sometimes adopting a bit of a fresh start routine will do the trick. Pick a day, start with a workout. Google some tasty recipes that fit how you aspire to eat. Then make a shopping list and go to the grocery store. Clean and organize your fridge and freezer. Pick a positive affirmation and stick it on the bathroom mirror. Find ways to constantly remind yourself of your priorities and goals.
All that will get you on the right track more surely than any weird drink or expensive fad product will Good luck!18 -
more fiber, more water. instant "cleanse"4

My "cleanse" is getting back on track and eating what I was before the holidays, keeping to my calorie goal and just basically moving forward.

This ^^
My body always tells me when to get back to eating a healthier diet. When I am drinking too much alcohol or too much of anything my digestive system goes nuts!0 -
“Cleanse” your cabinets and refrigerator of all the “junk” food you talked about that you can’t moderate. You’re on your way!8
