burpees / quantifying calories burned

I recently saw the burpees challenge and read the comments,...I'm wondering why myfitnesspal doesn't have more exercises identified in the database ?? Examples would be burpees, wall balls, weight lifting, box jumps etc.
Thoughts?

It probably all falls into "cross training" or something similar. I don't think you would be logging each single exercise, if you're putting in the intensity you likely won't get that many reps. Just focus on technique - kick your feet out quickly into a plank and jump as high as you can when you come up.

I would log whatever active time under circuit training or vigorous calisthenics. They have the same calorie burn. Both are probably on the high side.

If you are doing a more traditional weightlifting workout (not doing 100 deadlifts for time) then you can log that under cardio-strength training.

You’ll drive yourself batty if you try to piecemail out a workout like that.

Rather than listing each separate exercise, you just log the type of activity, like circuit training, calisthenics, aerobics, etc. Most people don’t want to log each individual exercise in a long workout. You could use calisthenics for burpees or create a new exercise that says burpees and use the same calories as shown for calisthenics.

There is no omniscient gathering of data that accurately lists every type of exercise movement.

MFP just collects whatever is out there and compiles it into one location-it’s a passive data hub-just like any other site that purports to offer this data.

It’s not a shortcoming of MFP. While there is a lot of information out there re calories and exercise, the amount of ACCURATE information is relatively small.
