Why am I gaining weight?

Past three weeks I have started eating healthy, low calorie intake, less of everything really, and doing daily light workouts such as sit ups and dancing always reaching 10,000 steps a day. And yet I find my self gained weight. Doesn’t make me want to continue often being hungry and not getting to eat my favourite “bad foods”

10000 steps you're active, not sedentary. And... weight fluctuations. Hormonal. Sodium. Exercise. Other. Use weight trend application. weigh more than once a week to capture your actual trend.
The above graph is somewhat useful. And the top section probably captures your case. I wish it also talked about reasonable goal setting!2 -

Are you logging accurately, everything that passes your lips (weighing is the most accurate way of logging food)?misslyssalyn wrote: »doing daily light workouts such as sit ups and dancing always reaching 10,000 steps a day.
New exercise & increased intensity of exercise can cause water retention.misslyssalyn wrote: »Doesn’t make me want to continue often being hungry and not getting to eat my favourite “bad foods”
You don't need to be hungry or not eat your favourite foods to lose weight. Foods are not bad or good, it's an overall diet which is healthy or unhealthy, you can fit the things you like in, in moderation if you're still getting adequate nutrition from elsewhere.
Many newcomers to MFP set themselves up incorrectly thinking that fast is better. Make sure your activity level is set correctly (Active if you're doing 10000 steps per day) choose a suitable sustainable rate of loss and log accurately and the fat will come off, sometimes it's just masked by water weight, which is why weigh loss isn't linear and you need to trust the process. If you are in a calorie deficit (eating to your goal) you will lose fat.
Choosing not to continue means nothing will change, you obviously started this because you want something to change.

Uhh.... see above....
Or it could be the scale gremlins.... I suspect they mess with mine a lot.😁2 -
Just personal experience.... i went from eating like *kitten* and doing zero exercise to working out with a trainer who kicks my *kitten* and religiously following the macros he set up for me. I lost nothing the first 2 weeks then dropped 7 lbs out of nowhere... my medical background tells me hormones, sodium, and water5
