hope to gain weight! NEW name Jake

Hello I just turned 21 and I am real tall and skinny(6'3 145 lbs) I know really skinny. I am just posting this for myself and going to try and update weekly. Today I started tracking meals as I haven't been able to gain weight for years though I played sports in high school and was same weight. Anyway, I ate 2650 calories today and gonna keep at it. Its hard, but cant give up. Started lifting decent weights and drinking whey and might try others. Thanks my goal is to be 160 in 1 month for my sisters wedding. Its "just" 15 lbs lets see if i can do it!

i assume you want to gain weight with muscle rather than fat. 15 lbs of muscle obviously isn't possible in that amount of time, so if you're ok with putting on 13 lbs of fat, good luck!

As mentioned those 15lbs will be mostly fat. Also that is a lot of eating, you are basically looking at about 1750cals per day over maintenance. So let's say you maintain on 3000 cals, that's 4750 cals per day. I would imagine if you are having issues keeping up with your eating as is, that will be tough. So my advice will be take it slower... don't put too much pressure on yourself to gain so fast, also you will be more likely to keep it on the more gradual you go.

You are a young man with tons of potential ahead of you. You will need to train hard and you will need to eat ALOT. Don’t cut yourself short by not eating enough because you are worried about getting fat. Eat sensibly and in quantity. You will gain a little fat but can get immensely stronger build some muscle and not be a slob.

Follow this “simple but not easy” approach for three months to get your feet wet then figure out what you need to do moving forward:
