But you can give your organs a helping hand. Have you tried a detox? Really you should give it a go
If my organs ever need a helping hand I will be at the doctors, not the supermarket.
I use ACV for recipes because it adds to the taste, it does sweet FA for weight loss or to "detox" your body.
Biology isn't your strong point is it - hope your cooking is better than your advice buddy
Clearly physics isn't yours buddy.
Physics? How does physics help with this. Lets just agree to disagree
If you need me to explain that, then there is even less hope for you than I thought.
Enjoy your cup of vinegar
Can you though - explain how physics affects ACV and weightloss2 -

Detoxing is key mate! I am primarily eating green salad #working
Oh go on then - I'll play (even though I know that one really shouldn't feed the trolls.. )
What toxic substance have you consumed that you need to eliminate from your body?

Yeah well he also thinks as a new runner he is going to be days away from doing marathons. So likely a troll.
Yeah--I think so too, that's why I ask for a "report back"--they NEVER do and I've been here almost 7 years.5 -

As a licensed and practicing medical professional, I can assure you - that is not how your body works. Unless you are in renal or hepatic failure your organs do not need any help.
If you are in organ failure, you need to be under medical care and probably in hospital, not trying to self treat with vinegar!14 -
The only thing drinking ACV made me lose was my will to live.7

The answer is: ACV does NOT directly affect weight loss, so...
The exception would be if drinking ACV made you so freaking nauseous that food was the last thing you wanted. It would, therefore, decrease your caloric intake resulting in weight loss if sustained over a long enough period of time.4 -

If you were just looking to joke around, you might find more like-minded posters in the Chit Chat forum. If you do a little reading here, you'll find the main diet and fitness related boards are in fact science based and do take stuff like this seriously - as diet and fitness issues can be incredibly serious issues for many people who are grappling with declining health, depression, body image issues, and eating disorders. People in real life do damage to their health and quality of life by depending on gimmicks to lose weight quickly.
If you want to lose 14 lbs, you should set your goal to lose either 0.5lbs or 1 lb per week, log accurately and consistently, and accept the fact you might not be to goal by summer. There is no scientific basis or proof that any sort of detox is beneficial to weight loss, including ACV.
I believe if you click on a poster's userid there is an ignore function. But like I said, if you didn't want serious replies, you posted in the wrong subforum :drinker:15 -

For arguendo, let's just assume we can help and improve our organs - again, just for arguendo.
If I told you I tuned up my car - as analogy - do you think my car would be more efficient and use less fuel when tuned up (improve), or more fuel, be less efficient?
Now, to make the analogy explicit, human fuel is called food. If your organs are working better, shouldn't the intuition be that they'll be more efficient, and use less fuel (food) to do the same work?
Like if you're sick, once you account of the inactivity, you are using more calories, not less. So again, wouldn't this extend to a hypothetical detox? That the toxin in your system would be making your body use more energy, not less?
Or even think of people who are sickly and in the hospital. We don't tend to think of being wasting up in size during a hospitalization for toxins, poisons, or sickness, do we?
I think a lot of people don't carry their own logic out on detoxes. Instead, they think in terms of moralizing and values. Toxins -> bad. Excess weight -> bad. You need to go one level deeper toxins would be bad in part because they're making your body inefficient. Unfortunately, efficient isn't how you lose more weight.6 -
There is no credible scientific evidence backing ACV for losing weight.
There is some credible scientific evidence that ACV can help control blood sugar in diabetics if taken before a meal, similar to a glass of wine.
There is also some credible evidence that unfiltered, unpasteurized ACV can benefit the gut biome similar to other fermented products as they are probiotic... but I'll stick to yogurt and occasionally enjoying some kimchi or sauerkraut on that front.
ACV is delicious for making dressings and sauces and making a cucumber salad. Pretty hard on the teeth straight up though.4 -
