Just setting this up for Sunday. Hope everyone had a great January!
Hi! My name is Kristen. And I struggle to maintain my weight. I have had great success losing/gaining, but I'm hoping this group helps me be more accountable. I weigh only 1x week on Sundays, so that's when I'll check in. My 2 goals in 2020 are to not let the scale go above 153 and weigh in EVERY Sunday for the WHOLE YEAR. This seems easy to most, but I get lazy and make excuses why I don't need to weigh in and then all of a sudden everything in my closet has shrunk. LOL

Struggles: Got sick half way through the week. Didn’t do my long run, started eating desserts like it was going out of style. Garmin stress level was through the roof. Cold sweats, such fun. That all added up to a +6 lb scale swing. Joy.
Successes: Felt good enough to run through a rainy local 5K. Set a PR and got 2nd in my age group.

Success(es)/struggle(s) of the week: Weight's finally down again this week, I also started my TOM this week so that would explain the weight/water retention. I also should be back on track with my training now I'm back working the earlier shift. Had a treat meal on Friday and woke up the lightest I've ever been. I would like to think that my body responds very well to refeeds.3 -

Success(es)/struggle(s) of the week: Sometimes the little successes help to put things in perspective. Although my weight is still on the higher end of my maintenance range, I noticed the other day that I've got an over 1000 day streak on MFP. The daily weight fluctuations get to me sometimes, but I've managed to come here and stay accountable for almost 3 years, and have come a long way since back before I started here and before I figured out that I didn't have to be miserable in order to lose weight.

Well done sticking with the program, getting to your goal range, and staying there. It's not easy. And well done with the feedback from your streak that you ARE sticking to it! And YAY for figuring out that you don't have to be miserable! Seems like you've got things dialed. I can guarantee you are NOT the only person here who dislikes the fluctuations, and yet you recognize that it's just part of the program.
Here's to your next thousand days!3 -

Is there a way to combine the two February check in threads? I guess for now I will post in both.3 -

Successes: I stayed very active throughout the week and made it to the gym daily. Started the day at a lower weight after banking up calories during the week for the Super Bowl snacks. I'm sure tomorrow will read much higher, but it's just a momentary blip. It was interesting to listen to co-workers talk about starting a weight-loss challenge and having a happy moment realizing that I'm perfectly good at my current weight.
@mtaratoot Fiddling with the Garmin settings has improved the calorie burn accuracy a bit, but it's still short by about 400 or so calories. I'm too lazy to mess with it more at the moment and am just going by what my usual TDEE has been over the last year or so.2 -

Successes: Had a few high days this week, but yesterday was really low, basically forced myself to eat 1200-ish calories of healthy food.
Struggles: Saturday was a result of me overdoing it Friday. Work happy hour, more beer than I usually drink, fried food and a tailgate at work for the Super Bowl. Didn't over eat, just ate things that resulted in me being miserable yesterday. Have some sort of sinus issues that aren't helping either.
Here is to a better week!

Successes/struggles: Nearly 3 weeks since the op, and I’m making progress. I’m clocking up about 5,000 steps a day, doing my recovery exercises and some seated exercises from Utube videos. I’m trying not to worry about putting on weight as I know I need to eat properly, and I’m still dependent on my boyfriend (who can’t cook from scratch) and eating out. I’m not allowed to stand for long and obviously can’t lift anything heavier than a half-filled kettle, so shopping and cooking for myself are not possible yet. I tell myself that in 5 weeks I can’t put on more than about 2.5 kg (or 5.5 lbs) and once I can get back to my usual activity levels that will go without too much difficulty.
I see the surgeon and the physio at the end of Feb (6 weeks after the op) so waiting for the sign off then. Hoping to get back to normal by the end of March.
@Jimb376mfp Hope you are doing well. I had spinal fusion (lower back) 25 years ago, takes a while to get moving again. Best wishes.

Last week, after a pizza and popcorn day, I was the highest in about a year. Today I am right on target. That is what makes maintance possible. Struggles: Still too much salt. Not doing well when I eat out. Working on it.
Labs are very good to excellent, but I can see some are edging in the wrong direction. A healthy diet seems to be essential for my good health. Still some trouble falling asleep this week4 -

Success(es)/struggle(s) of the week: I'm thinking that it's time to start getting back on track with eating healthier overall. The last couple of months have basically just been staying within calories throughout the holiday season, without paying attention to macros or getting in adequate fruit and vegetables. Winter always seems to be the most difficult time for me in terms of eating fruit especially, as I don't really enjoy anything that's in season. The cold weather just makes me want to eat a bunch of junk food and other high calorie items. I do want to work on a more balanced diet, so I'll be putting some effort into that to keep my protein intake up (I'm trying to recomp/build muscle) and incorporate more fruits and vegetables.5 -
LOL

Successes: I think I'm finally leveling out! Now, I'm leveling out 3lbs lighter than I orginally wanted to, but I'm ok with that. I'll see how the next month goes and see if I need to widen my range. Feeling a bit better after a nasty week of sinus problems.
Struggles: Last Sunday I changed my goal to gain .5lbs week. I thought maybe seeing the higher goal would help me mentally get closer to the calories I need to eat. I did get closer, but no where near the 'gain' number.
Here is to a great week!4 -

Struggles: Straight legged my left knee on a run and think changing my gait too much to accommodate it has made my quad very sore. Looks like a few days off are in order. It’s taper time for LA Marathon anyways; so perfect time for extra rest.
Successes: Made sure last weeks +6 lb swing remained just that, a swing and not the beginning of a longer pattern upwards. Took the whole week but trend is back where it was before. A couple more days and hopefully it’ll catch up to maintain or loss instead of projected gain.

Success of the week: Getting off the roller coaster that my weight has been on for the last two weeks. Last week I had gained up to the top of my maintenance range - about 4.5 pounds in two days. Holy cats! Kind of bounced around for the next week, then moderated back down. The last four days have been good - two days exactly the same scale weight just a little above my ultimate goal, then the last two just below it at the same weight. Feels better.
Struggle of the week: The tenacity of the weight that jumped on me; it just didn't seem like it wanted to get off. I still need to stay where I am a few more days before my trending weight is back at goal, and I'll do that!
Overall, still happy with maintaining even though I keep gaining and losing the same few annoying pounds. It does seem my ups and downs are getting smaller, so maybe (just MAYBE) I am getting this figured out.

Successes: As predicted, salty Super Bowl snacks and my wife's birthday dinner led to a big bounce at the beginning of the week that was shed pretty quickly. I'm going to up my calories a little bit this coming week (on a daily, consistent basis, rather than some of these roller-coaster weeks lately) to get back to the bottom of my range. Fit in cardio every day and have been active in general. I'm thinking I need to cut back on my cardio a couple of times a week to have sufficient time to do more strength training, though.
Have a great week, everyone!2 -

Success(es)/struggle(s) of the week: Had another big drop this week. I did have a moment of weakness yesterday and allowed myself to have another donut and a more than one serving of apple crumble that me and my partner was supposed to share. Back on track for the next 4 days as my partner is away but we have plans on going to a Japanese buffet on Friday that just opened not far away from our place. I should be able to stick as close to my goal as possible.2
