This week I switched from slimming world to calorie counting and I’ve ended up gaining 1/2 lb!
Has anyone successfully made the switch?

Weight loss isn't linear, you will see the scale go up and down throughout your journey to your goal weight (something that a lot of Slimming World leaders fail to mention (or even know).
There are lots of slimming club refugees here.
Check out the Most Helpful posts on Getting Started and General Diet boards for some tips on accurate logging and just keep in mind consisitency and patience are what will get you to goal.

Don’t be overly distressed. There’s a significant calorie counting learning curve. Start a food diary and keep it going no matter what. Even wildly over your number, log everything. Get a food scale and use it whenever possible to crunch the numbers.
Calculate a modest calorie deficit. You have to be able to live with it long term. Don’t be discouraged if the numbers the calculators give you don’t quite work out. Adjust them if needed. The calculators aren’t exact and it drives some folks crazy. Calorie counting involves some trial and error.
But know that calorie counting works. It has to work, it’s how our bodies are designed. Be persistent.0 -
MFP already sets in a calorie deficit that depends on what you set for your weekly loss rate target. So you don't need to add a deficit to what MFP sets for you.0

No matter what weight loss program you follow, weight loss is ALWAYS about eating less calories than your body burns. Someone is figuring out, and telling you, what and how much you can eat and drink. Some of us figure it out ourselves.0
