Are underwear progress pics offensive?

Ive found an old picture of me in a bikini and a little while ago I took a photo before I got dressed to compare. Only thing is - it's an underwear shot and I'm dubious about posting it because it may be deemed offensive or incorrect - what are everyones views on this?

If you are comfortable in your underwear who cares? Not really any different coverage wise than a swimsuit anyway.0

Just the same as a bikini really isn't it. I wouldn't be offended.
However, personally, I wouldn't be comfortable posting pictures of myself in underwear on a public internet site. Just be aware of your safety.
But, as far as anyone else's opinions go - if they don't like it they won't have to look.0 -
It is all about what your comfortable with. Really underware and swim suits are not that different - only in functionality.0
-
I dont think its offensive. Underwear pictures = Bathing suit pictures in most cases.0

i was going to post an after photo, but now there are people on here that i know...
im fine with strangers seeing but not people i know haha.0 -
I've seen so many pictures of girls in their bathing suits doing progress pictures and not get reported. But it's entirely up to you. If you're second guessing it, you probably shouldn't do it.0

Hi I don't have a problem with it, but I wouldn't like the idea that somebody might enjoy it a bit too much, if you know what I mean, but as said, it's not much different to swimwear :-)0

If your new picture is anythink like your profile picture you will be fine, I see a very pretty face in that picture that should make you very happy. As for me if you were to post pictures in normal clothing I would see the difference. But to answer your question, I would agree with jellybaby84. Your safety is what comes first.0

I think we need MORE underwear shots posted -- esp the "after" pictures......:devil:0
-
I'd say it's all about what you're comfortable with, if you're comfortable then it's fine0
-
If you are comfortable with the pic go for it! If anyone reports you they are a douche (IMO).
I think swimwear, etc, the least clothing possible pics are awesome for showing progress, clothing can hide so much of you and doesn't always have as big an impact but it is down to you if you want to do it!0 -
Its fine.
I wouldn't go for a glamour model pose - just a straight forward 'this is me' picture. I don't see how that could offend anyone.0 -
well, I hadn't really thought about people enjoying them a bit too much but after one of the comments Ive just read I think I'll leave it and try and do a clothed one - even though underwear/swimwear definitely show off your body shape more than in clothes.0

i am offended....that you won't post the pic. Trust me, there are worst pics on here. Steps to take:
1. Don said item of clothing
2. Find mirror, or accomplice to take pic
3. Shoot pic
4. Post
5. If anyone tells you they are offended, tell them to Kiss your azz.
See, that was easy.0 -
No. Do it0

do it x your body, your profile dont listen to the miserable haters x x x i do it all the time x x xx0
-
I dont know, I would have to see it first...so go ahead lets see!!!!0

oh darn, I really was looking forward to the underwear pictures! Tease. :laugh:0

Oops that was me, I promise I'm not a miserable hater (whatever that means!) - I just wanted you to consider people may be drooling over you in your undies!
I know most MFP users are perfectly normal and wouldn't do that at all, but I am also aware that some people have had to remove their 'friends' because of unwanted attention.
If you are happy with all the people in your friends list seeing your pics then go for it :-)0 -

haha - it wasn't you! it was a guy saying he thought we needed more underwear shots - kinda made me wonder if it was a good idea as some people might look at them for the wrong reasons!! xxx0 -
i say might as well. there will always be perverts out there, whether youre clothed or not ya know? my before pics are in my underwear, my after pics will be in my underwear, because i want to see any difference it makes.0

As a warning, I saw a girl post progress pictures in a mix and match bikini, and people were all over her for being "inappropriate" because they thought it was chonies. If you have a thick skin, go for it! They're pictures of your success, be proud! I can't wait until the day I look good in my underwear!! :-) Just be prepared - there are people on all Internet message boards, MFP unfortunately included, who just seem to love getting their panties in a twist and going off on an anonymous moral tirade :-P0
-
That completely depends on how cute the underwear in question are.
Granny panties? Yes. I'm offended.0 -
You could always do it in shorts and a sports bra or something so you're still showing what you're body looks like now and still be slightly covered up. I've seen a lot of the ladies doing it that way.0
-
As long as they cover the same things as your bikini, I see no problem with it. I have pictures of myself in my underwear that I share with friends on a private forum, but since they're a bit more skimpy than the average bikini, I don't post them to a forum as public as MFP.0

LOL - how many 'new friends requests' did that comment get you?0 -
Thanks for your replies and opinions guys - slightly more worried now that it would be seen as something it isnt - but lets face it - underwear/bikini is the best way when you are a woman as it shows your true body shape - I guess for now I'll have to smile to myself at the difference! haha xxxxx0

Plain bikini cut undies are fine but frilly, see through, or thongs are frowned upon.. by me. i dont know what the policy is though. I seen pic a few months ago where she covered her front with a hanging towel but left her butt exposed and used her hands to cover her breast. That was inappropriate.0
