Starting and failing again....

Ok that was annoying, I just posted this long discussion and then click done at the top and I lost it because I thought that's what you were supposed to click..
So this won't be as long I'm frustrated that I can't stay motivated with this app I've been on and off at for 4 years I've gone from 320lbs to 345lbs then back down, now up to 355lbs.
I literally feel like I'm dying everyday I want to go to bed at night I'm convinced but I'm not going to wake up in the morning I have headaches I'm out of breath I have horrible stomach pain I feel nauseated and I just literally feel very weak I'm also having issues with anxiety and worry..
It doesn't help that I'm on sick leave and at home and dealing with other stresses I'm sure a lot of my illness is because I'm obese but I'm still waiting to see a specialist to see what else is wrong..
I'm convinced I have cancer and I only have a short while to live so then I think I might as well eat what I want and enjoy my life but I'm not I'm feeling miserable and then I get mad that I've wasted this time being unhealthy..
I start off good for breakfast and lunch and then I just over eat for snacks and dinner I even set the calorie count to only lose 1.5 lbs a week so I'd have a higher amount but I still fine I'm eating almost 3000 calories a day..
This is so frustrating how do you stay motivated? You think getting up and feeling sick every single day and not being able to hardly walk or do anything or even work would be motivation enough

I heard someone quote you have to want this as bad as you want to breathe. And sometimes it is that. Sometimes 20 times a day in the beginning you have to remind yourself why your doing this. My heart feels for you, truly. There is hope, this is possible. It is worth every sacrifice of bad food. To live, without pain, or worry over your health is such a gift. I am cheering for you1

I think there are a lot more people out there that are going through or have gone through the very same thing. Like poster said above, you gotta want this bad enough to make change.0

Hi I currently weigh around 280lbs. I was 285pbs at my heaviest. I did lose 7lbs but have gained 2lbs on since. I too start off well but then give up by dinner time. I am happy to buddy up with you and we can help motivate each other. I agree, I think my weight effects my energy levels which then impacts how I eat - more sugary foods.
Shall we set ourselves a daily goal of drink more water, plan 3 healthy meals and maybe walk/march in the spot for 15mins? Start with small manageable tasks - then build them up. Good luck and you will do this - you have made the first step by coming here. Big hugs!0 -
You can want it all you like. An idea without a plan is just a dream.
Motivation gets you started. Dedication and planning keeps you on track.
Some days it is a GRIND and you will not have any motivation to stick to it, especially the first few weeks. But what helped me through it was making small changes, slowly.
I didn't try to go from 3k-5k cal/day to half of that. Instead, I weaned myself down until I was at my deficit goal. It took me about 2 weeks, but let it take as long as you need it to take. Try setting a goal to eat 'x' amount of calories less every couple of days. Will you really miss 100 cal less today and tomorrow? And you can get to less calories however you wish. Substitute Greek yogurt instead of sour cream. Have one slice of bread instead of two. Eat half of your normal portion of mac n cheese. Whatever you can live with.
Once I got down to my deficit calorie goal, I allowed myself to eat at maintenance one day each week. (In the beginning, it was 2-3 days each week. But I'm not looking for fast results, I'm looking for sustainable change and still posted losses.)
That has been my key to hanging in there. . Setting small manageable goals, meal prepping and journaling (helps me organize my thoughts). I am in Week 13 and 25lbs down.
Good luck!

Been there....a year ago I was basically in the same condition as you. I was just laying around waiting to die. Thank God my labs came back as pre-diabetic, because that was the motivation I needed to change everything. I'm 55 and turned it all around and within 6 months of not giving up, my labs went from the worst to the best in my adult life. In less than a year I have dropped almost 100 lbs and got my life back. You CAN do this, but only if you want it bad enough.4
