under 550 calorie chicken breast dinner

Does anyone have any suggestions for a dinner that would be under 550 calories? I have boneless/skinless chicken breast set out. Something simple and that can be done in the crock pot or skillet would be ideal (too hot to heat up the house with the oven!!)

As few calories as possible would be great that way it can allow for a snack later if I decide to have one.

Thanks in advance!

  • you could just have a nice salad. Or roast vegs and sweet potato if you want something hot. Aslo brown rice and curry sauce,.

    Hope this helps :)

I do brown rice and veggies with broth.
  • Marinade it with a good dry seasoning, then toss it into a skillet with a bit of olive oil and cook it up. Cook up some seasoned rice (you can add the same seasoning that you put on the chicken to the rice as it cooks) and some veggies (peas, asparagus, broccoli, etc). It makes a light and filling dinner.
  • Depending on the size of the chicken breast, it won't be many calories.

I often microwave a chicken breast in water for about 15 min from frozen, then cut it up, mix it with a can of green beans (only 70 calories for the whole can) and throw some lemon pepper on it.

I also sometimes do the same then cook it a couple extra minutes with some zero calorie BBQ sauce. Walden Farms makes a ton of zero calorie stuff. It can be hit or miss, but I like the BBQ sauce they make. Throw in a veggie and salad, or fruit.

Lots of ways to make chicken. Those are just a couple I use often and like.

I usually just boil mine with some seasoning in the water. I have it with corn on the cob, sweet potato, sometimes I pour a quarter of a cup of pasta sauce over it (some melted cheese if you like that - ewww lol), cut it up into a salad, there is so many things to do with chicken breasts!
  • These are all very good suggestions! I use Pampered Chef rubs on my chicken and just throw it in the pan with a little bit of olive oil and heat up some veggies or some whole wheat pasta.

I can't find one that gives calories online, but if you are interested I can get you exacts later. I have a cookbook "Cook this not that" and there is a recipe for panko crusted chicken tenders...and even gives a honey chipotle sauce that I heard is good, though I don't eat sauces so I only eat it plain.

You might do a search to see something like that. If you like chicken tenders or a crispy style chicken you can use panko crumbs to give it that taste in the oven for not many calories. :)
