Define "high" protein?
You only need so much protein. Anything above that doesn't magically cause faster fat loss - and it is just eliminated by the body. Expensive pee, as they say.
Higher protein can help some people feel more satisfied on lower calories. That's where the magic happens, for some.13 -

Your body already uses fat easily and you are burning fat for fuel 24x7 (dietary and body fat). It's one of your primary fuels and doesn't need any special nurturing or forcing.
And to lose body fat you just need a calorie deficit over an extended period of whatever macro mix you choose.12 -

Well your body only uses the protein it needs and the rest it doesn’t. So sometimes a lot of people consume too much protein unnecessarily. However if you are doing a lot of strengthening type exercises you need more protein to build muscle I believe. I did quite a bit of research on my own bc it’s all over the place high protein low fat, high fat low carb etc what is best? Well whatever works with your body. Sometimes you do a diet exercise regime and you gain weigh BUT lose a lot of body fat and inches some programs designed that way. You are gaining muscle and leaning out. I’m no expert but I’ve tried many things and diet types ( hence the experiment). Just read a lot of different articles about it and learn it’s all you can do really. Or consult a nutritionist who can likely tell you.3
