@CupcakeCrusoe Way to go!!!!
@GroverBlue78 Next month will be better. We will make ourselves a priority
@Terytha Hope you feel better soon
@aliciap0116 I am also in a funk. We'll get out of it. As far as Coronavirus, my students ask me a lot about if because it is in the news and sounds scary. I try to think positive but there are so many unknowns at the moment.
@Iamthekateanator Welcome! Everyone posts at their own pace, some more than others. I post almost daily because it helps with accountability.
@bluffgirl67 Way to get on that elliptical even though you did not feel great. Like you said, better than nothing. My mojo will be back next month

Hello, ladies!
Sorry I've been a bit MIA lately. Life in South Korea is a bit crazy at the moment; it's not terrible, just very stressful. But I'll be posting the new March group today or tomorrow!
Stay safe and healthy wherever you are!!! 💜15 -
@CupcakeCrusoe Wahoo to you!!
@bluffgirl67 Not sure why but emotionally I'm moving forward and I think that (hopefully) leads the body.
I'm trying to clear a little bit daily in my yard and thinking of things don't need and should pass on. Drinking water, supplements and exercising during the week and planning ahead. Hopeful!4 -
@RavenStCloud Sending prayers for your health and strength. I couldn’t recall exactly where you were so thank you for the update. I’m sure it is incredibly stressful.7

I've been on and off myfitnesspal since 2013. My stats are:
Height: 5ft 1"
Starting Weight: 244 (8-12-13)
Current Weight: 225.5 (2-26-20)
Goal Weight: 150
Ultimate Goal Weight: 125
My goal this month and next is to just start logging my food again no matter how bad it is. Hoping to stay motivated this time.8 -
Thanks guys for the support on the 5k! I ran at lunch today and ran a 5k just to make sure I could do it. I walked a few times and ended up managing it at 37 minutes. So, my goal is to do it in under 36 minutes at the run. It is a sunny and warm spring day here so it felt so good to be outside. I just looked up my last 5k time which was at the Shamrock Run here 2 years ago, and I ran it in 36:20. I'll be carrying around another 5-10 lbs this time, but still it would be cool to do it in less time! We will see.
I'm happy to see so many people here, who I've been in this group with since November, coming down into Onederland. How cool is that? You are all so inspiring- thinking of @bluffgirl67 @CupcakeCrusoe @aliciap0116 ! Thank you for posting here and making us feel that we can do it, too.
My goal is to make it there by the middle of March. Today I weighed in at 201.9!!!! But while I am sooooo close I can feel it, I know that I do best awith a slow-n-steady type of approach, and whenever I see a low weight on the scale, it seems to ricochet back up again. I'd like to be comfortably there in a couple weeks' time.
@RavenStCloud glad to hear you are OK, and I'm so sorry for the stress. I can only imagine. Thanks for keeping us going, despite everything you've got going on!
@sharpdust I feel the same way, I haven't been doing so "wonderful" at this lately either, and kind of treading water a bit. I still feel comfortable coming here and always find supportive people. I'm happy the scale is coming down again, and I hear you on March! Let's do this!
@aliciap0116 the funks happen to all of us. It's funny how one week of missing a positive routine can set us off on a downward spiral. The good news is- it doesn't take much time to get it back, right? I find for me once I can manage string together a few good days, I'm back to feeling more optimistic and motivated. When you look at your numbers, you've made progress in February, so that's great!

Hello All!! I am a complete newbie to the forum and health and nutrition... I’m trying to do this correctly, (meaning: To lose weight in a healthy way that I can maintain) as I have lost weight before, but it was through extreme measures like fasting, and I was never able to keep it off.
I was recently weighed at the doctors office, and I am back at 240 lbs. A weight I haven’t been at in over 10 years. I have recently started treatment for my depression, that has played a HUUUGE part in packing on all these pounds, so hopefully that will help me in the long run. I have also started (today was day 1) trying to keep track of my food, while maintaining a 1200 calorie a day diet. So far, I’m already 400 calories OVER my daily allotment, so that has me feeling down and angry with myself today. I’m trying not just to lose weight, but reverse my high blood pressure as well, so there’s definitely more than just cosmetic reasons for this attempt at a new lifestyle.
Hopefully, I can gain some motivation from all the more experienced members in this group. I’m definitely feeling a little vulnerable and teetering in the edge of giving up already, so I’m going to try to give this all I’ve got. 😊19 -
@kathrynegrady welcome to the group I am happy that you are getting help for your depression. Try to take it one day at a time. Logging in my food and exercise daily helps 1200 calories maybe a bit too low, My goal is to lose 1lb a week and my daily calories is 1320 when I exercise I try to get an additional 400 calories. When I am feeling a bit depressed logging in and reading others post really helps I feel like I have all these wonderful ladies cheering me on and that keeps me going. It is going to be a challenge but we are all here for you to lean on. Good luck on your weight journey.8

@kathrynegrady - welcome! Here's a couple of great posts that will help you get started:
community.myfitnesspal.com/en/discussion/10636388/free-customized-personal-weight-loss-eating-plan-not-spam-or-mlm/p1
community.myfitnesspal.com/en/discussion/1080242/a-guide-to-get-you-started-on-your-path-to-sexypants/p1
And today you did great! You only ate 1600 calories. I suspect you probably burned somewhere between 2400 and 2600. If so, congratulations! If you do eat like that most every day you are going to lose weight! The secret is not sticking to 1200 calories. The secret is eating less calories than you burn 90% of the time. The other secret is sticking with it.This week, just concentrate on logging everything you eat and see if you can eat less than what you burn. Then rinse and repeat.

Hi all,
I haven’t posted since the beginning of February, but I log on every day to read all your wonderful comments! I love the feeling of community. Lately, after the break up of a LTR, a bumpy arrival back into dating and living across the country from my friends and family, I catch myself feeling lonely!
But, my parents came to visit me this week, as it was my reading break. I caught the flu and off roadded a bit (my parents and I all love food!). I’m grateful I was able to maintain at around 205 while they were here. Hopefully I can get back into the swing of things!
Congrats to those that have made it into onederland!!! Exciting times and I hope to join you in March!10 -
@kathrynegrady Don't be so hard on yourself. I just started over today as well and I'm way over my limit, but I was honest about it. Just coming here and logging your food is a step in the right direction.6
-
@CupcakeCrusoe That’s awesome 👏🏽 ❣️ I hope to join you in Onderland soon 🤞🏽
Really happy & inspired‼️5 -
@CupcakeCrusoe congrats on the Onederland!!!!
Can't reply to the other posts as there are too many, but lovely to see new people, and people persevering through the ups and the downs.
I find i get more anxious when i eat less, i suppose the excess food was tranquilising me! But i'm thinking that as time goes on i'll adjust to it, anyone noticed this?
On the upside, bought some clothes in a size that used to be a bit tight, now fits nicely!6 -
Finally conquered my intimidation of dance aerobics with my daughter.. She likes to do the hip-hip dance style. Well my body doesn't move like that and if even tried some of those jump and strut, something on my body will be dislocated. So I decided to do what every video she streamed and I just moved side to side with a electric slide added. But was fun and we did it together in the privacy of my own home. We do have a YMCA membership but I am not ready to jiggle in public yet. Here's to a great workout- low key and fun.9

I think I'm finally caught up with all of the posts from the past few days! A trend I'm noticing and also dealing with myself is that February is a tough month because it's still winter and the gray and cold (and snow, snow, snow here) starts to really weigh on everyone I think. Just remember that the days are getting longer and before we know it, spring will be here! My mood and motivation has always been tied to sunlight I think and I'm looking forward to seeing bigger losses in the months to come! For now, I am holding steady. Really, that is an accomplishment in itself. I looked back at this time last year and it is when I hit my all time high weight. This year I am still down about 5 lbs or so since Jan 1st and down about 12 lbs from that high weight last year. So, I'm counting that as a win and like others here, I'm not planning to give up!
Oh, and a big congrats to @CupcakeCrusoe on reaching ONEderland!! I can't wait to make that same post someday!9 -
Well, goal failed. I wanted to lose 5 lbs this month and I lost a very sad 2.5. But a loss is still a loss, and I did have three birthdays this month, my own included.
Weighed in at 196.8 this morning.
Sigh.
Also I had almost no chocolate yesterday and actually slept through the night and had a mini whoosh this morning, so I'm thinking too much chocolate is a problem for me. As much as it hurts my heart to admit it.
Its that TOM and I'm cranky today. Hopefully it goes by fast.10 -
So, I snuck a peak at my weight this morning. I was a bit hard on myself a couple days ago when saw that I gained .4 and wanted to make sure I was on a down hill trend again. Seems I lost 1.8 since that weigh in on Tuesday. I did have a bit of wine and cocktails on Sunday for a bday party, so Im wondering if I was still retaining water Tuesday morning from a Sunday drinking binge? Its not my regular weight in, but still put me in a better mood today.12

2nd day in this program! Finding encouragement already. Thx!12 -
Welcome to all the new posters
@RavenStCloud Glad you were able to check in and let us know you're ok. Take precautions and stay safe. Thank you for taking the time to get us up running in March. It is much appreciated as always.
@cory17 I've been doing the same with decluttering and think it does help. There is something about letting go of no longer used things that is cathartic. Keep following all your health plans and letting go of stuff. It will all come together.
@wuany Taking things one at a time is an excellent strategy. When it comes to logging being honest with ourselves is important and I'm glad you are doing that. It helps us see where we can make improvements. I also make use of the note feature in the food diary to record things that affect my eating. Stuff like migraines, fibro flares, boredom, etc. We are here to help support you along the way. You can do it.
@shorepine You've got this run time in the bag. Already being at almost the same time as a few years back is awesome. Even with the few extra pounds your body may in better shape so you can beat that time. You've been doing well sticking to your plans and I know you can hit onederland in March. Go get it!
@kathrynegrady Welcome. The 1200 may be a low number for you on a daily basis. I know with the depression you don't want to add more stress due to calorie goals. Did mfp give you the 1200 calorie goal or was that something you chose? If it was mfp considering taking a slower approach of less than a 2lb week loss. Things will take longer but be better for you overall both physically and mentally. Also when you exercise be sure to eat some of those calories back. Start changing only a few small things so you aren't overwhelmed. Be patient, forgiving, and kind to yourself as you take this journey. Come to threads for motivation, support, and tips. This thread is my lifeline on my journey and @aliciap0116 started a thread based on the Phat n Phit podcast (great for listening). I also like reading other sections success stories, general threads, fitness, and nutrition. When you are struggling take a moment to read/listen to something to inspire you. You've got this.
@starbelliedsneed Sorry you've not been feeling well. Sounds like you had a great visit with your parents. Being able to maintain during that time is a nice accomplishment.
@orangequilt Congrats on getting into a new smaller size!! Some days I want more food but I think it is more boredom than hunger. Other days I struggle to eat the minimum and get so tired of figuring out what to eat for higher calorie but decent macros. Hence lots of pb toast lol. I guess like everything else there will be new things we have to work around and learn to deal with.
@MyBeth1 Great job on stepping out of your comfort zone. Being able to workout with your daughter is so cool. I'm sure as you become more comfortable you may even take it to Y.
@Tarzan37 Being down from last year's high is a big win! I know you've got to be tired of all that snow shoveling (great exercise, hard work). Onederland is in the cards just keep taking those steps to goal line.
@Terytha Moving forward is always a good thing so celebrate your loss this month.
@shalanne Scale ups and downs are frustrating even though logically so many things come into play. Glad you were able to lose the water weight and get a more accurate reading. I've been all over the place this week from 194 at the beginning to 197 and who knows what my official weigh in will be tomorrow. I know it will be higher if I strength train today though. Weight is a crazy ride.
I had to a mini cook session again since I was out of protein except enough for one meal today. Hubby picked up a deli chicken last night. So I broiled some beef patties and have spaghetti sauce in the slow cooker. Looking forward to zoodles and sauce tonight...Yummy.
Wishing all a great day of hitting goals and being strong.

So I ended January on 236 and I'm currently at 228.8, I didn't think I'd made much progress this month, seems I'm wrong on that.
I set foot in the gym today, I didn't really like it...dehydrated, didn't feel great, couldn't manage even a couple of runs on day 1 of couch to 5k so I went to the pool and swam instead. I feel better for it. I do want to do a proper lifting programme one day but I don't think I'm there yet!
It's great reading all your updates.11 -
My wt was lower this am then it's been for a bit, now to keep it there.7

Hi everyone, a sunny wonderful day here where I live. I'm lucky to be in a place where spring comes early. By the end of February we've got cherry trees flowering (at least the early ones) and daffodils. I know there will still be some March storms, but with the longer days and flowers it's a nice feeling that the worst is over- maybe?
@Tarzan37 I agree that February can be a tough month! One thing that has helped me over the last few months is making a point to get outside, even if the weather is not nice. Even a little bit of fresh air each day seems to perk me up, and I've tried to take every opportunity when the weather is somewhat decent to get out and walk or hike- as in dropping everything that can be dropped at that moment and going for it.
I also take a supplement that has vitamin D in it, I have noticed that it makes a pretty big difference in my overall mood during the winter. Even my husband noticed a change for the better, and we all know men can be soooo observant.
I hope you are all having a nice day!10 -

I started to get a little jealous reading this 😂🤦♀️ I live in Minnesota lol5 -
For anyone struggling like I am the last couple days!!9 -
Guys I did it! I worked out today. I know that may not sound like a big deal but for me it is. i have been procrastinating in finding time to workout. So this morning as hubby and I were talking about finding time I said I going tonight and you can make dinner.
So I left work, came home but directly to our building gym worked out. I was home by 630 just as hubby put food on the table.
I can get used to this.15 -
February has been a ROUGH month for me. I am so excited for it to be over and have a fresh start for March. My birthday is coming up on the 5th and I know I will kind of have an eating out week due to friends and family wanting to do things with me. I am excited, but also hoping I make the right choices foodwise.
I am so happy to see all the new faces, go you! Congratulations to everyone who has had success this month and I am sending hugs to those who may have struggled. We're in this together.11 -
Hi everyone! I’m brand new here. This is my very first post ever ever ever on the app as well. So here goes with my stats:
Age:32
Ht: 5’6”
SW:284 (beginning of Feb)
CW:277
GW:180 and then see how I feel.
My husband and I have started low carb/little as possible sugar thing lol. I’m excited to find a place where I fit without feeling like I’ll be judged for letting myself get to this point in my weight gain. March is almost here but I have no idea what an ideal GW for March would be. I’m so new I don’t know what is healthy or over estimating or what so any advice is helpful!8 -
@shalanne
I gained SO much confidence when I hired a trainer. Well worth the money- even if it's just to start.2 -
@ehusted7059 Welcome! I'm new here too and also trying to watch carbs and sugar. My advice for a goal weight for march is to enter your goals and stats and then daily your food into the app and when you hit "complete food diary" at the end of the day it says "if every day was like today you would weight x amount in five weeks." Maybe someone else will have better advice though. But I'm using that as my goal for the end of march! 🙂5
