How many servings do you eat daily ?

As a general rule: none. Haven't for about 3 1/2 years. I simply feel much better without those carbs.4
-
Varies by day and the meals we're having. Some days as low as 2 servings, other days maybe 4-6.
I feel just fine with the complex carbohydrates - they give me fuel for my exercise.3 -
None, I eat carbs but not bread, pasta, rice. They do hoirrible things to my blood sugar numbers. Type 2 diabetic. I use alternate flours instead.2
-
I have at least one serving at every meal, sometimes more, plus sometimes snacks. So I'd say 3-6.4

Have you had successful weight loss ?
I love eating good bread !0 -
What is a "serving" of bread?2
-
I usually have about 200 calories worth of bread/grains/potatoes/pasta per meal x 2 meals per day. My step count is close to 20k/day and I can't meet my caloric targets conveniently without them.4
-
As many as I want. I mostly eat whole grains, but that's because I prefer the taste. My servings probably vary from 2 - 6.
I eat pescatarian, mostly vegetarian (for 20+ years). I'm now in maintenance and eat 1600 - 1700 calories, 45 - 50% carbs. I am 55, 5'3", and weigh 122 lbs.4 -
Weight loss is about calories, not the individual foods you eat. You could eat only bread, and so long as you were within your calorie limit, you would lose weight. Good nutrition is another matter, so please don't eat just bread But so long as it's not crowding out other things (getting enough protein and fats, plenty of vege for vitamins and minerals), please enjoy that bread on behalf of someone who can't eat it.11
-
Depends. I'm not a big fan of most bread and tend to prefer other starchy carbs (beans, tubers) to grains on average, but grains (rice, corn, barley, pasta, oats, etc.) definitely do make up some of my diet and I like occasional good bread (including an occasional sandwich).
On a typical day, probably one serving, but it can be none and it can certainly be more than one, really varies.
This is not a change I made due to dieting -- I wasn't a big grain person before either, although I was more likely to mindlessly eat things because they were there.4 -
3ish and mostly whole grains (Did not do a low-carb approach for weight loss and I've been in maintenance for a looong time now.)1
-
Probably like 900. I REALLY like my carbs.6
-
Usually 2 servings per day, but it varies. I’ve been having toast every morning for a couple of weeks now and I have a few homemade croutons on my salad.0

When I was in weight loss mode I limited my wheat products mainly because I have a problem with moderation when it comes to wheat products.
The only bread I bought was 100% whole grain super market bread. It isn't that delicious by itself so I wasn't tempted to eat the whole loaf like I would with bakery bread. This is the one case where I didn't buy quality over utility. I still ate 1-2 slices of bread during weight loss, but no crackers, cold wheat based cereal, pasta only once per week. Bread is a trigger food for me, so are those other foods I just mentioned. Oh, pretzels.
I still lost my 80 pounds, but yeah - bread had to be one to two slices per day. There just wasn't room for more, calorie-wise.0 -
Corn, rice and oats don't trigger me. Unless it's popcorn. The way I tell myself to stop eating popcorn is by saying, "Okay, but all that fiber will be hell to pay tomorrow."1

Servings vary from day to day but I eat bread and other grains nearly every day. About 50% carbs on most days...1

^^^Not sure how one could disagree with this...8 -
What do you consider a serving? I have two slices of toast in the morning, some bread or grain at lunch (1-2 servings maybe?) And dinner I probably have 2-4 servings of pasta, bread, rice, other grains.0
-
On an average day, 0-2. I don't think there's anything wrong with eating them, I just typically prefer to get my carbohydrates from other sources.2
-
I don't really think in terms of grain servings but have been noticing a lot of questions about it recently so have been wondering if it is a thing again.
I have some sort of starch with every meal. When I make eggs, I have a piece of bread. Most commonly with dinners I have rice or potatoes, as they are more satiating for me. I also have pasta.2 -
Daily. I’m a sourdough bread baker (home, not a pro) and bake all our bread. I have input the ingredients into the recipe builder and I weigh the baked bread and weigh my portions by the ounce.
We often eat rice as the base for our dinners. Again, portion control. I weigh it, eat and enjoy it.
Pasta is hard for me, though. I can’t seem to control myself and it doesn’t satisfy me for as long.4 -
I eat around 200g of carbs daily (now in maintenance, it was more like 150 while losing). Most of them aren't breads or grains, not because there's anything wrong with those in the abstract, but because I don't personally find them to be all that tasty/enjoyable.
I eat oatmeal pretty much every day, sometimes have an Ezekiel tortilla or pita (4 or so days a week?), maybe use a couple of spelt/flax crackers as a substrate for cheese a few times a week.
That's about it for normal daily consumption. Most of my carbs are veggies, fruit, the sugars in no-sugar-added dairy, some blackstrap molasses in my oatmeal, a bit of sugar in my kefir.
If you like bread, there's no reason not to eat some. You could theoretically eat all and only bread, within your calorie goal, and still lose weight. Obviously, no one's likely to be silly enough to do that, since nutrition is important for health. As long as you get get enough protein, healthy fats, and veggies/fruits for micros and fiber, you can fill the rest of your calories with bread, with no penalty, IMO.1 -
My carbs right now range between 3-400g (abt 55% of my intake) - most days I have a bagel, 2-3 servings of pasta or rice and cereal1
-
Just curious---what's the dislike about? That I don't eat breads/grains or that I feel better not eating them?1
-
It's not dislike, it's disagree.
I see nothing to disagree with in your post (it's a statement about your own habits and why), so it could just be someone accidentally hitting the button which apparently can happen easily on the app, I wouldn't worry about it.1 -
Depends on the day. I eat about 70-90 grams of bread a day (occasionally twice that number if I have 2 meals of sandwiches), plus rice/flour/pasta and other grain based carbs when the main meal contains them. The main meal has to have starches for me to feel satisfied, but sometimes they're not grain based so bread ends up my only grain-based food for the day.0
-
I have oatmeal for breakfast and a big bowl of popcorn for a snack so 3 for sure. I'm diabetic and bread spikes me more than anything else, even whole wheat. I can eat more now that my blood sugar is really low, even the occasional potato, but bread's out aside of rarely.0

90 grams? That's not even 3 slices I currently eat four slices, about 140 grams, maybe more bread with dinner if I have a soup (I looooove soups!)0 -

I don't eat breads in slices, well, I only rarely do. That's a whole pita/bun.0
