What where your results with intermittent fasting? And is it okay If I don't stick to just one IF type but do, for example, a 16 hour fast one day and then a 19 hour fast the next day because this seem to happen to me a lot due to my schedule.

What kind of results are you hoping for? IF has helped me and others to control calories. For some it's very helpful. Others not. The exact window isn't so important as not eating too many calories.
Some days I go 15 hours, others 16 or 18. There is nothing magical about the number of hours or the exact schedule. There is no inherent weight loss benefit beyond a calorie control tool.

Fasting is a tool to help you eat less (get into and maintain a caloric deficit) without feeling like your are. There are no rules that I know of that state you have to have the same window every day. There are also no rules that even say you have to do it every day. I personally skip breakfast on Monday, Wednesday and Friday. Works for me and I don't feel the need to do more than that. Experiment and figure out what works for you.
Good luck!4 -
Been doing IF for nine months with good results. It absolutely will not matter for weight loss whether your fasting time is 16 or 19 hours - that is solely a function of calories, not number of hours fasting.
I started with 16:8 (8 hr eating window), tried 18:6, and landed on 17:7 (noon to 7 pm for eating) which has worked out comfortably and easily for me. The trick with IF is to find the window that fits your schedule and preferences. In general, in my n=1 experience, shorter eating windows are easier to deal with - in other words, it can be easier to fast for 19 hours than for 16, so it's worth experimenting to find out what works best for you.8 -

IF is just an eating window and can help some maintain a calorie deficit. It isn't a magical weight loss strategy though...I've lost weight, maintained weight, and gained weight on IF depending on my calories.8 -
I have done IF by default for most of my adult life-that’s just when/how I prefer to eat.
I have done IF to become morbidly obese, I’ve done IF to lose weight, I’ve done IF to maintain (or sometimes gain).
How many calories I eat determines if I gain/lose/maintain.
IF is just the timing for when I eat. It doesn’t make me lose/gain/anything by itself.10 -

I’ve been doing it for years, I actually think it’s better to be flexible with it and have some days you fast longer or shorter than others. Being too rigid with it becomes impractical when life happens.

Yes you can switch it up all the time to fit your schedule, hunger, etc. I use a tracking app which averages the length of the previous 7 fasts which I find helpful/ informative to cross check with my weight loss. If I’m super hungry I break my fast earlier, and sometimes I’m not so hungry and I push my eating window to open a bit later. I find it a flexible strategy.3

IF helps me when I'm on a lower calorie diet because it cuts out an entire meals worth of calories. I can kind of "deal" with being hungry in the morning but I hate being hungry at night.3

I personally love IF. I feel great when doing it. I typically do a 18:6 and it works well for me. I’m huge in to counting every calorie I intake and it really helps me.3

I eat one meal a day, but I'm not all strict about it.....meaning I have cream and sugar in my coffee in the morning and lots of days I have it in the afternoon too. Some IFers feel like that is wrong. It works for me. I've lost weight, I keep it off, and I don't freak out if my sweet husband wants to take me out for lunch one day. You have to find what works for you and what is maintainable for you. It doesn't matter if you do any type of IF, if you gain it all back.
This helps me with my calorie deficit. I do not log calories, but I do a bit of mental count. I know that if I eat 3 slices of pizza tonight, tomorrow night I'll stick with grilled chicken and leafy veggies.
One meal a day helps me keep my water weight down (i'm hypothyroid and that's always an issue for me), it allows me to not feel bloated, and it just makes me feel good.3
