Just setting this up for Sunday when I weigh in!
Hi! My name is Kristen. And I struggle to maintain my weight. I have had great success losing/gaining, but I'm hoping this group helps me be more accountable. I weigh only 1x week on Sundays, so that's when I'll check in. My 2 goals in 2020 are to not let the scale go above 153 and weigh in EVERY Sunday for the WHOLE YEAR. This seems easy to most, but I get lazy and make excuses why I don't need to weigh in and then all of a sudden everything in my closet has shrunk. LOL

Success(es)/struggle(s) of the week:No lost no gain. Those pesky 2 -3 pounds just won't budge. I 'm going to have to get serious about losing them. People look at me strange when I tell them I still need to loose them. They remember where I was and where I am now and are like um your looking just fine. Good things my MFP people get it. Have a great week.4 -

Successes: Well, at least I only lost .5lbs. Ugh. This week was busy at work and found myself having to eat a lot at night to make up calories.
Struggles: I think I'm going to have to not log this week and see if that helps the scale stay or go up. If anyone else has any tips to stop the scale from being in a downward direction, other than 'eat more', I'm all ears!
Here is to a better week.

Successes: Trying a basic 16:8 IF on my days off as a way to keep weekend eating a little in check. Need to work on a wholistic approach to my weekly intake that maintains my weight and what's going to be an increasing training load through the summer as I approach my first ultra marathon.
Struggles: Not much to report.
Going on vacation and running the LA Marathon. There will be lots of food, but also lots of active days including the obvious. It's been a little over a year of actually pursuing this weight loss and 4 years of pursuing running. I'm going to enjoy the time and try not to stress too much about diet. I come back and I'm planning on taking a week off from running, and then start the long road to Tick Tock Ultra 12 hour run in September.6 -

Success(es)/struggle(s) of the week: I've been procrastinating a bit in the morning and being a little half arsed with my workouts. Still doing them (success!), but not for the length or intensity as I should, and by procrastinating (damn you Facebook!) I find myself short on time and taking short-cuts to get ready and leave the house. I think a ban is in order. Got to actually get out of bed when the alarm goes off, not simply wake and scroll!2 -

Successes/struggles: Last Monday I vowed to restart weighing and logging. Some success – I did breakfast every day – but I ate out a few times and skipped logging especially evenings. I had cake a few times without recording it, and there is one small slice left.
I saw the surgeon and the physio on Wednesday and received the all clear to progress with more exercise. But the physio was very cautious about increasing the cardio and the weights on the gym machines. I forgot to ask her about swimming so I’ve sent an email and waiting for an answer. Walking seems to be the recommendation. I got my bike out and managed a very short, level, ride, but don’t know when I’ll be able to go into town on it. I’m seeing the physio again in a few weeks’ time, and it could be another 2 or 3 months before I get back to previous exercise routines. I know it’s possible to manage weight and lose weight without exercise but as a little old lady my BMR is very low and my maintenance calories are only about 1400 without extra exercise.
However, I’m in this for the long haul and for my health, (mental health as well as physical) so maintaining at 50 – 52 kg for a few months won’t do any harm.

Using a graphic habit tracker (see below) that I personalized with affirmations & drawings has made all of this tracking (and reflecting upon the data) much more fun for me.
Struggles: Appetite seems higher - I think due to staying home to avoid coronavirus. Working on staying calm & reminding myself that (over)eating won’t help.

Success of the week: I have kept my scale weight within less than a one pound range all week. My trending weight has stayed within a 0.1 pound range every day this week. I can hardly be more steady than this.
Struggle of the week: More of a mental challenge, but that rock steady trend weight is just about a pound over what my primary goal weight is. Hardly a struggle, but yeah, it still bugs me.

Successes of the week: Averaging over 20K steps + 30 minutes cardio/day. Staying under my weekly calorie average. Went for my first outdoor run today since last year and enjoyed the preview of spring.
Struggles of the week: Still wide swings in day-to-day calorie intake, which I'd like to smooth out a little more. Having to curb intake sharply before/after a decadent day is annoying and puts too much focus on food. I'd also like to overcome the psychological barrier I seem to have about moving up to the bottom of my range. Lastly, not enough strength training last week, which has been a consistent struggle lately. All-in-all, though, nothing very serious.
Have a great week, everyone!5 -

Successes/struggles: I’ve done much better at weighing and logging food and my weight seems to have stabilised now at just under 51 kg. There was a little upward blip last Tuesday but the trend line has now turned downwards after going up through January and February. As I’m still not able to do much cardio work I’m happy to stay at this weight for a few more weeks. I’m gradually increasing my steps – last week averaged just under 10,000 steps a day – and hoping to continue.
Struggles: I'm hoping to start swimming this week, but I'm quite busy for a few days so I might struggle to actually do it. The physio also said I could go to the gym if I'm careful but I haven't got there yet.
Overall I'm making good progress following the surgery so I just need to keep it up. It's so easy to drift into laziness again. That's how I gained weight after retiring from work - lost my routines and drifted into lazy days.2 -

Success(es)/struggle(s) of the week:
My lifestyle has changed some because of the Coronavirus and I have been staying home more. This gives me more opportunities to eat. Surprising how difficult it is to not just graze.4 -

Success(es)/struggle(s) of the week: So, just as I thought that I was mostly recovered last week from the flu/virus I got in February, it turns out that that was not the case. I still had one lingering symptom that would not go away, and came down with a fever on Tuesday and decided to go to the doctor on Wednesday. The doctor thinks it's probably a secondary bacterial infection that developed, so I've been on antibiotics since Wednesday. I'm cautiously optimistic and think that I've improved a bit since then, and hope to keep improving.
Weightwise, my weight went really down this week compared to last week (109.9 average v. 111.6 average). I had two days this week just under 109 lbs (108.6 and 108.8), which is still within my range, but I was definitely a bit concerned about it and know that it was related to my illness. As a comparison, when I got sick in mid-late February, I had a few days where I weighed in at 109.8 and one 109.6, and hadn't seen anything in the 109 range since June. To counteract the weight I seem to have lost, this week I've been eating extra calories when possible and, while I've continued to track/log them, I'm not counting them against my usual surplus/deficit plan. Since I was feeling a bit better yesterday, I made a pie in honor of Pi day and ate 2 pieces (~800 calories, but I need them!).4 -

@erjones11 -- if you combine those two maintenance ranges to 150-160.... you are smack dab in the middle, which should be pretty awesome news!0

Success(es)/struggle(s) of the week Back down need to work hard this week. Off school for 2 weeks due to our governor shutting down all school due to virus concerns. We have none in our neck of the woods. Have a good week.2 -
LOL

Successes: I'm happy with the gain this week, but I'm not surprised. I've been drinking more (alcohol) and snacking more. And I'm sure not really knowing what I'm eating has helped balance things out.
Struggles: My company has asked us to work at home until April 6th, and while that excites me, I know it will get really old really fast. I was supposed to start a Public Speaking seminar (8 week, 1x a week) April 6th and with the uncertainty of all this, I will have to push it off until our Summer time slot. Can't teach public speaking in a time of 'social distancing'.
We will see what the first week of 'working at home' does to the scale. Good luck everyone!

March 22nd:
March 29th:
Successes: I was able to turn off my calorie counting brain and enjoy literally everything I wanted to on vacation. Corn Dogs, montecristos, desserts, in-n-out.
Struggles: The LA Marathon was a bomb for me. I fell two miles in banging my knee cap really hard. By mile 6 it was the size of a grapefruit and continuing to finish just wasnt an option. Since then the swelling has come down a lot and I've been able to mostly move as normal. Did some x-rays as a precaution and nothing is broken. Hoping after another week or so I'll be able to go for my first run since.
I'll put my weight spike under struggle but I expected some level of weight gain / water retention with the change in diet. After returning from california I was up over 10 pounds. Half of it was lost over a couple days leading me to believe it was mostly water.
Here's hoping in a couple weeks this will be a blip on my maintenance chart.
